Title says it all. What the fuck is wrong with every corpo not letting people sit while working, even in inside jobs. When I'm sitting in a chair, I'm relaxed and happier. I can do more things at the same time which makes my productivity skyrocket, which should be better for everyone. In the other hand, when I'm standing for 8 h straight my legs and back hurts, I feel so tired that I can't work properly. I constantly get distracted, thinking how much I'd like to sit down for a couple of minutes. And the worst part about it, it's that not only the bosses think that work can only be done while standing, but also some of my coworkers. I'm so sick and tired of having it this way everywhere I go and I can't pretend this is okay anymore.

I just for fired
I was fired because I couldn't work after not getting enough sleep due to working on an issue caused by a hack that I warned them about before noon on my first day. They didn't do anything about it. Nothing can be done because of labor laws nor am looking to or want to do anything. I just need to vent.
This happened to my partner's mother. She works for a supermarket chain in the UK. I won't say which one, let's just say “this isn't just any supermarket”. Later on the was told by the stores assistant manager that the message was meant for the management team only, not the front line staff (i.e. the people who actually do all the work). But because they had all seen it they were told the company would have to honour it and give them all a bonus. As it's a slightly more high end supermarket a lot of people I have met assume that they take good care of their workers but…
“People die. Work doesn’t.” Everyone is going to die one day. Your time in this world is limited. Your job and the work that you do will go on without you, and other people will do the job when you can’t anymore. I have a coworker who has been with the company for over 10 years and willingly works herself to the fucking bone, even when she’s on PTO. She’s an outstanding employee and one of the most wonderful, down to earth people you will ever meet. That said, I’m not sure why anyone would sacrifice their time and energy to that caliber, especially when they’re as replaceable as anyone else on her level. Don’t expect me to have the same work ethic as her. I will absolutely work hard and be good at my job, but I understand the value of my time, and also how replaceable I am.…
