Which day would you take off?
I work Saturdays just for a few hours. So I get Sundays and another day off during the week. Debating if I should take Fridays or Mondays? Which day would you pick? Thanks!!
This surely can’t be legal right? (uk)

Original post (https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/u4wv53/my_store_manager_is_about_to_have_no_employees/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share). I had left on paternal leave the day after the store manager made this decision. I applied for jobs while being on paid leave. On my first day back I put in my 2 week notice to transition to a new job. I finally got a job in IT to start the career I went to school for! My team was a team of 6 before I left on leave and is now me and one other. I told them not to leave until they had another job lined up and most of them were gone when I came back, I checked with them and they are all good. My manager saw my notice the other day and asked if she could talk to me alone. She told me that she really needs me and we could negotiate a pay raise together. I told her that she…
Every single year for the past 9 years we take the same vacation days, I have worked at 3 different employers over this time and none had an issue with it until apparently now. When I started this job 2 years ago in my interview I made it clear that I would be taking these days no matter what I dont care if I have the full time paid or not I'm going. 2 of the 3 jobs I didn't have enough PTO to cover. Well this year I will be missing 2 days of pto time to use due to a mystery illness that took me down. I put my request in over 9 months in advanced and have made it clear before and after I would be going. Now they wont give me my request back stating that they would give me a month's notice on what the…
I can’t bear my mom going into work.
My Mom is a Middle School special Ed teacher making $18,000 a year in upstate NY and only does it because she loves the kids. They are horribly understaffed and the administration knows she’s the best teacher to actually take care of the kids. And man the kids aren’t alright, the school as a whole is able to get the kids to actually focus on learning about 40% of the time they used to pre-pandemic. Everyone is missing milestones and everyone is depressed. The administration wants her to take care of a kid that violently attacked several teachers and runs away from the school on an almost daily basis. This child apparently brought a large kitchen knife to school and a teacher found it and brought it their car. My Mom was only notified a week after the incident, meanwhile this kid is talking about how he wouldn’t be upset…
My man was running the place by himself and unloading a truck. He tried to recruit me. Working at nights is terrible for my health but anything for a price, right? I asked the pay. $9 an hour. They'd rather close then give the workers a raise.
Yall this is fucked. The man lives alone and is in his late 20's. Other employees complain to me about how he smells. Turns out the guy can't afford to keep his water on so he can't shower. By his account he grew up in poverty and left school to work to help his family. Whether that's true or not I can't say, but the company pays him half of any other new hire due to his education level. He's also “not eligible for a raise” as he is capped at $9 without an education. The fuck is that shit? I make, quite literally, more in a single week than he does in his entire month of work. I'm just finding this out now, so I haven't seen hr over the matter yet, but my boss says company policy maintains he won't receive a raise or get any training in…
