I applied online for an overnight merchandising at a store 15 minutes away. It was implied I would get paid 15 an hour. Instead they pay me 14. There was nothing in the online job description about traveling to 4 different stores (some being an hour away). The work is way too physical at times for just 14 an hour when flipping burgers is 15 MINIMUM at some places. The workers are almost happy to be slaves, home depot is anti union apparently, and I haven't gotten paid for my mileage in the past 2 months. This is literally the hardest job that you could possibly have at a store and they pay less than burger money. TL;DR home depot lies to get people to sign up for unreasonably hard jobs. Only boomers and crackheads can tolerate working here.

Hey Fruit Stand Workers
Isn’t it funny how the expectations for “quick” means to grind out as much as possible and not be even 5 minutes late or 20 minutes long…but when we talk about raises “quick” means a year and a half too late?!
I’ve been having some medical concerns and have missed a few days of work. I have had doctors notes to cover my missed days or have made up my hours. One of my coworkers called out yesterday because he is sick. Another coworker told me she was quitting this week but apparently tested positive for covid. My boss pushed her saying she was hiding something from him and she said she just wasn’t going to come back. I requested two days off and on the schedule I was off for the days I requested. My boss called me at 8:17 this morning asking where I was. I told him I was off today and tomorrow. He asked why. I said I was scheduled off but he kept pressing on the reason I requested. I told him I had a concert I was going to and I am helping my brother…
Time off denied for HS graduation
My team works at the mall in express and Manager doesn’t want to give her the day off so that she can attend her own high school graduation. Basically I told her you tell her your mom said you’re taking the day off and if she has a problem with that you can just quit on the spot. Like you seriously expect my daughter to miss her own high school graduation for a minimum wage job at the mall. She asked me to post this here to see what people thought she should do.
I do love a good ping-pong table
How old are you
No shade just curious
I have a friend who just graduated from UNK and she told me she is thinking of moving to Mexico. I don't understand why, I don't know that in USA there are more job opportunities than Mexico? Why would a recent college graduate from the USA move to Mexico? She has told me that most people live in stress, but really that much? Is the situation that bad in USA? The truth is that I love her and worry about her future, but it doesn't compare to a Mexican salary of 750-1000 USD as opposed to a US salary of 3000-3500 USD. I don't know about her college debt, I guess she already paid it to make that decision.
India needs an Anti Work Movement.
Do you decide to earn 4-5K USD per month in the USA but with a lot of stress (but having a very high purchasing power)? Or better to earn 1-1.5K USD in Mexico? (You will have a low purchasing power, but you will be happier). I have been talking to friends from USA and they tell me about the constant work stress, why do they suffer so much stress even though their purchasing power is high? My friends from the USA surprise me that they travel often to Europe
