Worried? work harder, they say
As if we have no other traits, interests, or hobbies worth sharing. I'm making a conscious effort to no longer ask someone “what do you do?” when first meeting them, because we all only ever answer about our work.
At the beginning of the year my company said during the week of a holiday everyone can work from home. We currently have a hybrid schedule of 3 in/2 home. We thought this was great until today my manager told us upper management wants us in 2 days next week. No reason for the change. We were all silent after he told us and I personally was pissed. This company is tone deaf on WFH, gas prices, tolls and general cost of living. I feel lied to and now feel I can't trust the company. I started mid-December of last year and thinking of leaving already. Lying plus making us go into the office is enough for me. I'm so tempted to call them out on social media but I don't know the best way to do it. Anyone been through this amd what did you do?
I am hiring for two entry level roles and looking for recent college graduates. Specifically looking for 0-2 years experience. My recruiter is having a hard time sourcing candidates. What can we do better? Offering 60-70k for salary positions in a Fortune 500 company. 3-4 week vacation and competitive benefit package. I've had exactly 2 interviews over that past two months. The position is for inside sales. Position is straight salary, vs low salary and commission on performance. I'm curious as to what we can do to get more candidates.
Workplace implosion speeding up
So I've talked about my workplace previously and I'll attach links for those interested. For context, I was hired with the expectation and understanding I would work 20 hours a week to fit around my full time study, which is obviously my priority. Our ideal complement of drivers is 200 to cover all runs while also covering expected days off and so on. We've been running somewhere < 150 since January, with a couple in and out. This means everyone has been getting extra shifts, and I just found out this week that a couple of my colleagues have been working 13 days a fortnight, which is a huge safety breach and grossly illegal, but the company keeps rostering them to work, their English isn't great and I think they just do what they're told. We've had late pays, fuel cards have mysteriously stopped working and we've been asked us…
