Last week they said they wanted to offer me the job. Its a job im passionate about and really well paid. They said I need 5 references. 2 have to be managers. I gave them the current one and 3 are not responding and i contacted them more than once. Skill survey wants to send a survey via email . So there wont be a phone call. HR told me I was expected to get the offer today via email. Im fucked. My references havent got back. I dont think this is fair.

Need some help, let me know if wrong sub. So I got an offer for one position (within my range for said position). Great, excited. But I am to be submitted for next interviews for another position with the potential to ask for & make $40-45k more a year. 1st one is Sr. Analyst type role the second is Director level. Seeing as that there is an offer on the table for one & I may not even get an offer for the 2nd is it worth me taking my chances & declining the 1st role? P.S. been out of work since end of April
So I started a job at a new marketing firm almost 2 months ago. One key thing here is that we cannot keep employees. That last 2 people that we hired quit within the first 2 weeks. My boss doesn’t give any raises and he refuses to hire more people. We are a team of about 12 people, we just lost our marketing director of almost 3 years and my boss wants to absorb the position rather than hire someone new. So we are very understaffed. It is a decent opportunity for someone new out of college who’s eager to just make any money though. I work in customer support and communications but our designers are extremely busy. So I decided to try my hand at graphic design and make a prototype of the website using Canva that will be given to the programmer, which we needed to launch this…

Weird that it’s two
I almost quit my job today.
Today when I got to work, my boss decided he wanted to go on a political rant. I held my tongue as long as I could, but I couldn’t stand his constant ignorance. I finally spoke up about how I don’t think it’s appropriate to be discussing this at work. He wasn’t happy about that. He baited me into an argument with about my own political beliefs, only for him to shut me down at every moment. This isn’t the first time my boss had acted this one. During my first week of training, I was on the phone with a customer. He kept asking: “can you hear me?” I had hear him, but I didn’t think he was talking to me. I assumed he was on the phone with someone. He said it again and again. Finally he yells “CAN YOU HEAR ME!?” I asked “are you talking to…
(Apologies for any typos/weird formatting, I'm just ranting) Let me start off by saying the obvious: America was/is built on blood and violence. It has never truly been free or good. That being said, I understand that for decades in the past, America has been one of the best options for people needing jobs or safety. However, as we all know, that's not the case today. Women's and queer people's rights are being stripped from them as we speak, and hundreds of innocent people of color, especially black people, are killed by cops because the government is too lazy to do anything (and let's be honest, they just don't care). Nearly every week there's another public shooting with neglectful cops. The justice system is extremely racially biased and not even trying to hide it. The poor are dying because businesses and the governments are refusing to raise the minimum wage…
