Should I walk out on job?
I left a high pressure job as an HR Assistant at a facility with 600 employees. I was the only HR Assistant and I was working all of the time including evenings and weekends. I was there for over ten years and not happy for most of them. I got a new job at a place with only 70 employees and I have not been there a year yet. I'm an HR Assistant here as well. The day shift employees are terrible to me. They joke amongst themselves about how stupid I am. This all stems from one employee who said she felt she had to talk really slow to me for me to understand. I was new and didn't know the answer to her question and I guess that makes me stupid. It's gotten worse and even the supervisors are participating in it. My boss is on vacation and…
I’m on mobile, so apologies for formatting. I used to love the agency I worked for. I was so proud to tell people I worked for them and what we did. When an internal position I REALLY wanted opened up, I applied and was ecstatic to hear I received it. Then I noticed my pay rate was the starting rate for this position. This was an issue because we all had received two agency wide raises last year, totaling a little over $1/hour. These went to everyone in the agency, and I thought that since they weren’t specific to any position they’d carry over. Apparently not. To note, it’s not written anywhere in the employee manual or contract that agency wide raises aren’t portable. This is just “how they’ve always done it.” I argued back and forth with them for four months about this, even up to the CEO, and…
Currently stuck at a job, needs advice
Here is my current situation. I’m making $21 /hour at a job that is 45 mins away. I spend roughly $200 I’m gas a month, the company is helping us with gas but this month they only gave $25. Last month they gave a full tank of gas. It’s currently the off season and it is hard to find higher paying jobs. I know I should leave this job, but I know if I do the person who hired me would hate me and I would ruin another work/life relationship. Normally, I would just find another job, but my SO just lost his job and so I am afraid to take the chance at a new company. I have no idea what to do. I can feel my car dying from the commute and I know that cars are becoming harder to obtain also.
Nurse fired for trying to unionize
Call Center Customer Retention Representative $1,700 per month …. $14.17 per hour. To convince people to not cancel the service. So glad I ditched cable 4 years ago.
Job hunting idea –
If indeed can require us have to state if we earned a diploma or degree, why can’t they require employers to post pay?
Hi all, I wanted to make this post because I saw this post earlier today talking about the feasibility, the stress, and the monetary requirements of moving from the US to another country, this post is specifically talking about Europe. This does apply to those of you living outside of the US as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/uy7ms1/why_americans_cant_just_move_to_a_better_country/ I wanted to shine some light on an option I don't see a ton of folks talking about, and that's a Working Holiday visa. Plenty of countries have them and have agreements with other countries allowing younger folks (usually under 35) to get a visa for either cheap or free that allows you to travel there and work or live for 12 months, and longer if you get sponsored employment. As an American, I'll speak about my own experience. I applied for a Working Holiday visa in New Zealand in 2018, it was free, and…
