Just wondering if this is something that other people do, obviously taking a big gamble but its good to feel just a little free once in a while.

Some Quick Background. I was hired 100% Remote, Just got this note from HR. I have provided documentation in the past of severe anxiety. I work in Tech, and there is 0 reason for me to be in the office. How do I respond to this?! Best idea wins and I will use it.(At this point I don't even care if I get fired as I have another job) Happy Friday Junior!!! I want to get in front of this—or get it back in front of you—I’m in need of your medical documentation. Specifically, I need documentation, on official letterhead, stating that you cannot come to work in person. I know you provided something quite awhile ago saying you were being treated. However, that doesn’t exempt you. I need it to specifically say that due to a certain diagnosis, you are unable to work in…
Had been working for a managed IT services provider for about a month and a half. Wasn't perfect, but the people were good, the work was moderately interesting. In any case, I normally work Sun-Thurs 10-7. Go in Sunday, all normal. Wife tells me she's feeling a little ick. No big deal. Next morning, she's full on floored. This is on of those women who are “I ain't got time to be sick” and work through broken bones. SHE'S unable to get out of bed. I call my supervisor (oh, btw, I have 6 bosses. Queue Office Space quotes) and tell them “I need to work from home today, wife is really sick and I need to be nearby to help her.” Now, mind you, this is a managed IT services provider. The MAJORITY of the workforce could work from home 24/7 without any break in service. My request? “we'll…
I work at at brokerage firm. There are 10 of us. I've been here 1 year and According to other colleagues, they've been working in office since the pandemic. Tomorrow is the start of a 3 day weekend, and only 3 of us will be here. Why the fuck should we all have to come in? Last year was dead, everyone important is out, and there is only 1 client meeting. Why the fuck am I obligated to commute and get ready and dressed up just to sit at my fucking desk and do nothing. I wanted to call in but even my supervisor is out. Why the fuck do we need to be in the fucking office? Oh and to top it off, I've been the one taking on more work since we basically lost 3 people. I want to quit.

I work two jobs. One corporate one a dishwashing job. After I was sent home, I was told by my doctor to stay off my feet for a week. My corporate job basically said “ok get better.” And that was it. No questions. No demanding a date for a return. The dishwashing job’s response was “ohhhh I hope you feel better BUT you need to let us know when you can come back.” My wife took the doctor’s excuse to them (I’m 35, not sure why I need a fucking note, but whatever) and they told her “oh this is going to be difficult.” She said “Well he’s not getting paid for a week, so it’s going to be difficult for us too.” And left. I’m surprised they didn’t just fire me. Anyway, this week of not working has literally been the best week of my life in the last…
A recent company-wide email was sent out stating that we’d have an “appreciation dinner” as a small gesture to show thanks for all our recent hard work. For some context, we’ve recently had 5 employees move on to greener pastures, of an already small-ish group. There are roughly ~25 of us working in this firm and have had to pick up extra work in some areas. On top of already being slammed with work while they were still working here. I can only now assume that this “appreciation dinner” will be the only sort of compensation or acknowledgment of our efforts. Thing is, I don’t give a flying fuck about it. This whole concept of corporate gratitude is so jacked, and gives off such a “we’re a family here” vibe. It also feels like it’s coming across that we should feel guilty if we don’t go. We’ll too bad, I’m…
