In my state at least, there are so many businesses that are screaming out for help, lowering their age range for workers, promising higher pay, etc etc. yet they're rejecting applications left and right. Kinda nice seeing businesses fuck themselves over because they refuse to accept how desperate they are. So many worker strikes, unions, riots over living cost vs. minimum wage…seems like companies are feeling the backfire for once.

I walk up to the counter, the cashier and a customer are having a conversation about how “nobody wants to work anymore”. It went a little something like this… Cashier: “Yeah we try to hire people but they all quit on us. Nobody wants to work anymore!” Customer: “I can’t even get anybody to hire, it’s ridiculous.” Cashier: “Are they still giving all that money out?” Customer: “I’m not sure I don’t think so..” And I wanted to hear the rest but I’m so fucking tired from busting my ass the last few days at my new job on top of my lack of sleep(sleeping problems). Conclusion: These people didn’t even understand why nobody wants to work anymore. They didn’t know if people were still getting “all that free money”. I am a teacher and speak to many different students from all walks of life. Overwhelmingly when we talk about education, they say the following things: ​ – The sole purpose of education is to give you the tools to make money – We should get rid of subjects like art, and literature – schoolchildren should learn how to pay taxes, pay bills, and only practical subjects that only serve ​ ​ this means that they don't view education as a way of enriching and exploring knowledge, but purely as something that must serve capitalist exploitation ​ it probably explains why so many on the right have zero media literacy

That's really the whole post. ​ For the past year and a half, I had worked steadily and made 72-96k per year (different positions in my field). Got an email last week that the job is gone. Not much warning at all. ​ I had thought about living on my own. Trying to make it. Now I can't, because the position I had was a big pay bump, chance for health insurance, and more. I don't know what to do. ​ Plus, I'm a lesbian. That causes its own problems when you're trying to move through life. ​ The really ironic thing is that I'm in legal. But, maybe it's not so bad. I'm physically safe, things are better than they were a year ago, and because of the money thing, I have to pick what I'm dealing with: stay with pets in familiar surroundings and deal with my wife,…

So my schedule are apparently random. But for some reason my manager cut all my upcoming shifts by 30 minutes. Could there be a particular reason why?

A. we continue on the the downhill slope we’ve reached as a society. By continuing to make people more and more comfortable by developing entertainment and technology. which simultaneously makes us weaker and less intelligent. But you might not realize it because what you know is all you’ve ever known and how you think now is how you always thought you think like. In most day to day scenarios unless you speak from a deep place all the time. Then kudos. B. We reevaluate ourselves see how we’ve been way more physically inactive and way more mentally active than any humans in our history.
