Even if you get the right connections and somehow end up famous in some way they will still exploit you but 5x more than in any corporate job and drain you up and spit you out when they don’t need you bc they see you as just as replaceable too. And you’re forced to work hard 24/7 busting your behind to stay relevant otherwise you’ll loose profit or they’ll dump you and look for someone else and your career is over. But at least you can walk home with a decent handful of money if you’re lucky but another thing to add on top is You have to be fully aware of cancel culture too, that is even more intense. And the culture and environment is toxic as hell because it’s all about looks and appearances, status and popularity more so than talent. You’re pressured to look a certain way…

Posting this because I am frustrated. So for background info, I am in university and I needed a job on the side because I need to pay two rents right now because my previous landlord refuses to end the contract and I am heavily in debt but still want to survive. So I decided to help out at a horse farm. I was scheduled all alone for one day. I was scheduled one hour before opening and was scared I wouldn't get all horses back in on time for opening. I texted my boss in concern and she just said “Show up earlier if you think you can't manage it” but I wouldn't get paid for it because it's outside of my hours. So I show up. I told him that’s not a liveable wage, and they deserve to be paid enough especially from someone so wealthy. He replied “just find another job”. He earns 150k a year and thinks climate change is a cycle.

im new to work as just graduated so i really dont know if what i experienced is harassment but i felt uncomfortable and i think it was, but what is especially shocking is that my company has had anti-harassment seminars and supposedly take this stuff very seriously, so i just assumed that this wouldnt happen, yet maybe i was naive? am i alone in this

new job hired me at a time when they’re too busy to give me any training or answer my questions so now i look like a fucking dickhead for not knowing what i’m doing. i’m particularly upset/angry about this because i left my previous job and was hoping for a) a better work environment/pay and b) some time off. instead, this new place was absolutely desperate for me to start asap so i didn’t get the time off i wanted and now i feel depressed and anxious every day because i can’t take the stress of not knowing how to do my job.
