We've just had an election where neither of the two majors received more than 30% of the vote, meaning a ton of independents and Greens are in the house after excelling at Obama-like local tactics. Maybe there's a chance in the US to beat the kind of tactics that saw the DNC destroy Bernie's chance of a fair primary, handing the WH to the right? Working from Home, Other Perspective
I come from a not-quite-developed country in Asia. I am lately having plenty of discussions with friends and relatives from back home, talking about current economy and work situations. Here in this sub, the general sentiment is that working from home is something that is truly beneficial for employees and that employers should always offer it as long as it is practical to do so. So this is another perspective on this issue. It turns out that in that country, significant number of workers see WfH in a negative way. They feel alienated and isolated, and they miss the social interactions they used to have with their coworkers. It goes as bad as employees have been seeing psychological help for depression due to WfH. For some context about the situation I work night shift in a warehouse and the pay is usually managed by day shift. We've had no issues so far, the fire registry is kept and our pays are based of the time wrote down for us. The night shift office does that small tiny bit of work. But for 2 nights we had a different night shift office staff who just happened to forgot to do the fire registry so day shift being as awkward as they are have decided to give us sheet of paper to write down our own times. This seems massively unnecessary as our times are wrote in the fire registry. Threats have been made next to these new wasteful sheets of paper that if we don't sign in the times we don't get paid despite the fact our times our kept on the fire registry. I…
