You shouldn’t had to work to deserve your UNALIENABLE human rights.

You know what you need to live? You need food. You need shelter. You need medicine. Yet, all of these things are locked behind a paywall. It’s like, “these are your unalienable human rights which no one can deny you, unless you’re poor. Then fuck you.”

I lost all intrest in working after finding out my US inters makes more than me in a month more than i make in a year

I'm an indian, been working for few years in few MNCs, this perticular company is a US unicorn giant. I work my ass off the entire year, i was forced to take on unpaid overtime , i regularly worked till 1-3am just to meet the deadline. Went out my way to help the team in projects that had nothing to do with me. A month ago i got my appraisal, my manager was all praise on my productivity but said the higher ups gave a bad hike due to budget issues , I now basically make 20$ more after working my assoff for a year, i get a 20$ hike. I worked so hard and late my manager assigned US interns to shadow me and learn. I want to unionize but I don’t know where to begin.

I want to unionize. I am a Canadian who works in a poorly regulated trade (Tree work/Aboriculture). I love my trade to bits, but I am getting fed up of the constant drive for production, the skirting of safety rules, and the fact that for an incredibly high-risk profession we get paid unacceptably low wages. ​ I have no clue where to begin, I am not versed in labour law at all. I also anticipate the following challenges: 1) Local unionization at my companies branch, if we all went for it, I suspect they'd try to fire us. I work for a large company that we joke has more lawyers than it does trucks, too. 2) The culture of my trade has been, in my opinion, curated into being anti-union. I was given no breaks during an 8 hour shift.

I started a new job recently as a fry cook in fast food. It pays better than my old one (still only $9/h) but this restaurant's policy is that cooks don't get breaks. Their reasoning is that they only have 1 cook on the clock at any time, so giving them a break would disrupt profits. I'm an adult, and this is in Texas, so it's perfectly legal. Of course I can use the restroom, but sitting when it's slow also seems to be discouraged. I'm a healthy and fairly fit young man, but I don't know if I can do this 5-6 days a week. I'm grateful for the job and I can't just quit unless I get hired somewhere else. I'll be taking interviews, but until then is there anything I can do? Employer just decided to assign a time value to all our tasks.

As the title says, my employer, in a bid to increase productivity, decided to assign a time value to all tasks. The funny part is, the people assigning these values have never done these tasks, and have greatly overestimated how long they actually take to do. So I need to account for so many hours per day and if I find any tasks that have an incorrect time value I’ve to inform them so they can reduce this. Yeah, watch me. Anyway. That’s my hours complete for the day and I’ve 6 hours left till I go home! Time to kick back and browse Reddit! Remember, only do the minimum!
