Nice hourly rate! Oh, wait.
Covid exposure
Spent two hours in a meeting earlier in the week and the person tested positive for Covid today. I was informed I was exposed but the person that called conveniently forgot to ask if I had the booster shots. They only asked about the two vaccines. I told them I was having symptoms but they said don’t quarantine. I lost all my pto at the beginning of the year for surgery so I had to go in. Calling out without any, is a write up and you only get two a year. The guidelines are no quarantining and wear a mask if you’ve had the booster. Quarantine and test on the fifth day if you don’t. I stupidly didn’t look up the guidelines before going into work. The one decent supervisor stopped me on his way out from getting sent home because they didn’t tell him either and asked me…

Give notice on a Friday or Monday?
Would love some input as I’m trying to remain professional. I would love to throw my key and say some things not kind but I’ll stick to leaving for personal reasons. Should I give notice tomorrow? Or Monday? The 1st is a Wednesday which I thought might be nice too, that way insurance has one more month. The other thing is my birthday is Tuesday….
I could’ve owned a gas station?
I once worked as a “counter girl,” except I’m a guy who just never felt like being a cook at my local gas station/fast food restaurant. I was never asked to fill any other position. My manager left for better pay elsewhere and the promoted from within whom was a cook I’ve saw maybe twice after working there for 4-5 months. Eventually he got me to show up to his “you’re fired,” meeting that was out of the blue. He said “Yeah the last manager was supposed to fire you but never did. The owners name, said that he didn’t a guy working the front counter anymore.” I probably should’ve filed something, but I wasn’t about it. A couple of months later he got fired for trying to date one of the teenagers working there. Who promotes these bozos?
How do I request less hours?
My job asked me how many hours I wanted to work a week. I told them 30 hours a week. They've put me on for just under full time. How do I ask that they lower my hours?
We work in four hour shifts and don’t really have the option to go take breaks or hide anywhere (including bathrooms) and its becoming really hard to not burst into sobs at work. Everyone else I ask this to just gets really uncomfortable. Does anyone have serious tips?
