It feels like people who use those terms are okay with how shady public trading is and encourage it. Trust is broken with me the moment somebody casually uses one of those words in regard to stock or crypto. When news sources use those terms it feels like they are participating in manipulation of market and peoples emotions. It is really gross. #unpopularopinion

The other day I went to a restaurant and noticed there was only 1 waiter. The place was also empty, meaning I was the only customer. After getting me my food (which was mid at best, but that's besides the point), I ask him who the owner is and he smiles and says 'me'. I was surprised and asked him where are the other waiters and he said 'no one wants to work anymore'.. I had to stop myself from bursting into laughter on his shitty floor. I quickly ask for a bill and left no tip. He gets mad and I told him tips are meant to supplement the workers not the owners and he cursed me out as I left thru the door. Do I do the right thing?

This is mostly a vent. I started my current job in February – I started as a receptionist (I won’t say where) and was quickly promoted to junior manager and this week to assistant manager. We’re VERY understaffed, and due to the nature of the business, my boss tells us a lot. We’ve lost three receptionists since I started, and will soon lose a fourth (the woman I’m replacing) as she’s going on maternity leave soon. There are two other AMs at one location I work at, and only one other receptionist at the second location I work. I started at $14.25/hour, and with the two promotions, I now make $16.50 (I live in Minneapolis, where min wage is $15, but work in a suburb where it’s lower).
