um, why are people in the same position at my job getting paid different wages? is this normal?

when i first started at my restaurant, i started as a TOGO host at 10.50hr plus tips because we already had a server and nobody was there to work TOGOs or the door. almost a year later i am a server but for some reason they schedule me still now as a TOGO person (super sucks but not the point). well today i was talking with some of my TOGO team and one of them was complaining because our other TOGO member makes 14$ an hour and she only makes 12$. and i was like what? we’re all clocked in under TOGO host why are we making different money? which prompted me to look at my own workday app and see that i still make 10.50 EVEN THOUGH IVE BEEN THERE THE LONGEST? and then i learn that a different girl—again clocked in under TOGO HOST—is making just 9$? am…

Have you noticed HR people act like fockwits and don’t respond to follow-ups in a normal fashion? When they finally do respond sometime they get upset they have to deal with an actual person. WTF?

I've noticed about 60%-80% of companies do not reply to follow-ups on their publicly listed hiring ads. This number would be higher if companies were not using off-shore SASS platforms to automate their rejection. This is troubling and annoying. Especially when the narrative companies are putting out is “Whaaaaa no one wants to work whaaaaah whaaah” For one, most of these companies job post spam, with paid ad jobs on major sites. Then they bitch about it when their HR person doesn't have time or staff to even respond to the shit. Then, they leave the ad up for a prolonged time, no updates, maybe its filled, who knows. Without ever responding to follow-ups from candidates. And I actually view this as unlawful, unsavory, bad business, and unethical behavior. Because at this juncture we've applied to the job: they've gathered ALL of our very personal DATA. EOCC crap, birth date,…

Don’t work jobs that underpay you but expect you to work 60 hours a week to make up the difference

I recently learned what it means to be a wage slave. I had recently gotten a job that only paid $13 an hour but expected you to work 60 hours a week to make up for the abysmal pay. It was a construction job if anybody was wondering. And this is just some advice to anybody who is on the fence about being anti-work. As somebody who isn't necessarily anti-work but finds that the right job can actually make work feel like not work, do not hesitate to walk away from BS jobs that make you into a wage slave by not allowing you to have enough time to yourself or to find a new job, while paying you as little as possible
