So the company I work for is supposed to be having team member appreciation week, but yes you guessed it. No appreciation besides some undercooked dry food and making sure we “keep up the good work but our scores could be better.” Im more upset because the only reason some of us are still here is NOT because of management it’s because of each other but I’ve started branching out looking for other jobs because the pay isn’t enough, ask for a raise it’s “let’s talk about some training you need then we will discuss that.” All of us do a lot to keep this place running and making the managers themselves look good and it’s a lot on me in particular becauee im pregnant. Haven’t had any days offf yet so there’s that, no insurance or benefits, just nothing. Thanks for listening to my rant.
Month: June 2022
I’ve been working for 3 weeks (part-time) at this burger joint in the US. My first week on the job, for some reason they placed me on a full-time schedule even if I applied as part-time. They couldn’t change my hours anymore for the coming 2 weeks (upsetting but oh well) but they at least gave me a new schedule with weekends and Friday off for future weeks, which is amazing. Then later that week a completely different manager brings me in and tells me that I cannot have the schedule the other manager gave me, so she gives me a new one where I work Saturday and then I’m off Thursday instead (I will admit the first new schedule seemed too good to be true). I’m confused why that first manager gave me that schedule in the first place because later I am told he is not even allowed…
I have worked for the company I'm at for over fifteen years now. Since 2012, I have been in a formal Employment Agreement with them. I was in a position at that time where I was able to write the agreement myself. I feel like the original agreement was more than fair. The company has hired a lawyer to draft this new agreement. Many aspects of the new agreement seem extremely vague, or broad, to me. I am willing to enter into a new agreement, but I definitely won't sign until I'm sure that it is better than my current agreement. I already had one meeting with them where I raised concerns about the new agreement and I just received a 2nd draft as a result of that meeting. I am wondering where the best option is to look for help on this. Any employment lawyers out there willing to…

Need some advice about company vehicle…
So my husband works for a company that provides some employees w/ a company vehicle. Six plus months ago my husband’s company vehicle needed some repairs. Due to the cost/age of the vehicle his boss decided to sell his company car. His boss asked him if he could drive his personal vehicle for two weeks while he got a replacement. My husband agreed and we have this exchange documented via text. It has now been almost seven months and he is still driving his personal vehicle. My husband is driving our secondary vehicle-which is old and has high mileage. Not the best car he does a ton of driving. We used it primarily on the weekends for short trips to the store. In the past six months we’ve had to put the car in the shop several times. We’ve paid almost 2,000 in repairs. My question is-my husband’s employment contract…
My work isn’t so bad.
Mainly because I own my own car rental thing but it’s not so bad. I work and when the work is done so is my day. I’m not stuck sitting around doing nothing to make hours. I can get the work done early and not work the next day, I can sleep in and stay at home. The only downside is each car costs about 15k and takes a long time to make the 15k back.
I used to deliver supplies as a part of my job. When I asked about being compensated for mileage, they said, “sure, we can look into that” Then they immediately removed me from delivering. Which is fine. I hated making an extra stop in to work anyway.. But now.. Someone else picks up work supplies and he did a gas expense for $75.00. The supply store is 6.5 miles from work. He picks it up once a week. Sometimes twice, but rarely twice. Isn't $75 alot? Maybe he is doing an expense for the month.. if so, is that still a reasonable amount for the month?
What’s up with this back to office shit?
Why are some workplaces pushing to return people to the offices? I understand that they're probably on a contract for a year or something with rent and shit, but provided remote work works, why would you want people to return even if you pay the rent? You still save money on maintenance/energies while getting same/better results with people in office. There's also plenty of companies with international teams, where remote work is the only option anyways, which creates a precedence that remote works. No idea if you can outsource and sort of re-rent your rented offices to other people tho. So why would you even want people to return? Is this something normal people actually want? I wouldn't know, I'm a heavily introverted person, but to be honest, working remote is awesome for me – not being locked in office for 8hrs and the ability to do alot of shit…
