How shady is this?
I'm a 16 year old girl working at a sports bar. Obviously this doesn't affect me much at all since I'm not even close to the level of these people, but it's still kinda concerning. I was talking to one of the new hires who is a manager in training. She mentioned that when she was hired by the GM of the store, she was specifically told not to share her pay with others. Apparently when the GM does the paperwork for new managers in training, she sends the papers off saying they make $1 an hour so that nobody else in the store knows how much each manager makes. The GM specifically told this girl that the ONLY people who will know are the GM, the accountant, and the girl herself. She even stated that this is so that she (GM) will know if any manager shares their salary,…
I’m trying hard not to laugh on this call with HR. I submitted my resignation to this dumpster fire of a job and my boss told HR they want to approve when my last day will be. I only gave a 5 day notice bc this firm has completely burned me out and I have nothing left to give. Now they are ‘concerned’ and think I should provide them another month of service 🤣
My SO just started a new full time job. At her job, they work 4 day weeks. Weekends are off, and then everybody has one other day off during the week. So some might not work Wednesdays, others might not work Fridays, etc. My SO's day off is Mondays. The thing is, there are a lot of Monday holidays, like the upcoming 4th of July for example. For her coworkers, this is an extra day off. They will enjoy a Monday holiday, and also get to take off their Tuesday, or Wednesday, or Thursday, or Friday. But for my SO, it doesn't count as anything. She already has Monday off, so the office being closed that day doesn't affect her, and she can't instead take her holiday on different day, like Friday or Tuesday. In fact, she can't bank those holiday hours at all. She just doesn't get these holidays.…
About to quit!
I took a mid-level management job at a medical practice back in November and it was the worst decision I've ever made. This week I got an offer for a great wfh position reviewing claims for over billing to help negotiate high-dollar medical bills, and I'm hanging in my resignation this afternoon! I can't entirely shake the ridiculous and totally unjustified sense of guilt about quitting, but I am so happy to be leaving this terrible company!
What do you all think about this youtube video?
how fitting for a job assessment…
I was wondering if there is an opposite subreddit for r/antiwork. I need to restore my faith in the employers of the companies (if possible). I want to believe that there are some employers who look out for the welfare of their employees.
