Phone interview today

I know this isn't exactly the normal type of post, but hey I need a little congrats. (On phone, so sorry for formatting etc, etc.) I've been busting my ass for the company I currently work for, and lately they've turned to treating my location as lesser-than and it's a pain in the ass. Promotions are being given to favorites rather than interviewing internally like they've always done, and I'm not paid nearly what I'm worth. Today, I have a phone interview at 2:30pm with a new company. If I got this job, my yearly salary would jump up anywhere between 12-24 thousand a year (nearly 60-80%) pay increase. So I guess wish me luck? Maybe losing me will make the district managers realize that they can't retain good employees with such incredibly low wages. I don't really know my point here, I just needed to get it out somewhere.…

tips taken out of my check after quitting

I live in Michigan and took on a second job – that was supposed to only be PM shift. I ended up quitting w/o notice. I did my first shift and then they sent out an email saying they will no longer be open at night. I tried my best to move my schedule around with my main job to make it work but it ended up just being too much. Before quitting I could see on the square teams app that I had about 20% gratuity left for me. I just got my paystub emailed and under tips it is $0. Is there anything I can do about this? Is it legal? I was being paid $15/hr – not sure if that would make a difference in the matter.

I won’t accept any offer that is not wfh at very least hybrid.

Currently looking to make a career change and it’s been going well. Sent out four resumes, got two interviews, and one offer. When reviewing the offer I asked if I am able to wfh. They said it was a in person position (even tho all work is done from a computer, project manager). So I started doing the math. 17 mile commute, 34 miles a day, 170 miles a week, 8,840 miles a year, my truck gets 20mpg so that’s 442 gallons of gas, say gas drops to $5/gallon best case scenario. That’s $2,210 a year to just go to and from work. I asked to add that $2,210 to the offer letter. They said they will get back to me. So now it got me thinking even more. What about time? 30 minutes one way, 1 hour a day, 5 hours a week, 260 hours a year. That’s 10+…

Leave it to the people to step up and not the employer. Remember the Burger King worker of 27 years?
