My sister-in-law is a major workaholic, and i quote she said “if i stop working, i will die as if my heart stopped beating”. She has her own counselling/psychiatric office, so she makes sure to put extra effort into it, but things have gotten out of hand. She has 2 kids in school, but since she works all the time, everyone in school just laughs at her kids saying things like “haha the orphans are here, oh wait their mom just doesn't care about them hahaha” and when the kids are home and told the mom about this, she just shrugs it off saying they have to grow up and deal with it so she can focus on work. Same goes for family time, weekends? Work. Family outings? Work. Visiting grandparents? Work. When she notices my wife and i just working “normally” on our day jobs, she'll sometimes gives comments…

Alright so i did 3 yrs at my job and it was super busy and stressful tje managment keep change increase work lots of problems.covid time made it worse now im on a longbreak and now i feel no energy feel so exhausted all i want is sleep allday ;((

I work for a major factory and my work decided to change machinery. This would not be a problem except now I'm literally putting my head next to an open fryer. I've complained to my supervisors and brought the other factory incident in but all I get is we're looking into it. Now my coworker was put on leave twice in 3 weeks (for various reasons), and my manager is becoming more agressive for problems I'm not a part of. I can live of 3 months without work but nothing in my area is what I want to work for.

Previously in May I was laid off from an automotive company due to budget cuts. It was extremely sudden, and I had only been there a month. My direct manager had no idea of the cuts, I was laid off by a different departments manager that day. After the event, he called me and said he would do everything in his power to get me hired back & that it should not have been me that was laid off. Fast forward to now, and he has reached out that a position is opening up. He had been in contact with me on & off this entire period of unemployment. Apparently a “felony” is anything Republicans don't like. Felony is quickly losing its meaning as, the same way car alarms did. How can something be legally practiced today, but a “felony” tomorrow? This country (USA) is all about stripping your rights away. Pretty soon, strikes and collective bargaining will be a “felony”

I used to take 2-week vacations 2-3 times a year prior to covid. I just started traveling again but this new manager I have approves vacations arbitrarily, and there is no system. Most places want a 3-month+ notice but this place doesn’t like that. In fact, if you request too far ahead, it will be ignored until a month out from the date you requested, and even then you have to remind her to review it. I think she favors the staff that does overtime hours for her. I can call out for short stints, but I prefer 2-3week vacations. Even then, I’m not the type of worker that calls out for no good reason. I’m not known as a worker that calls off. Someone told me I could take FMLA, but I’m not sure how that works. This was a few years back and before I got my RN degree. I worked at a hospital (still do) as a dispatcher for inpatient transport. Basically we would take patients to and from testing sites to their room and stuff. My job was to monitor all the incoming requests, make sure transports weren't taking to long, and expediting requests when needed. If it was busy I would go.out and move patients nusy like everyone else. That was the entirety of my job description. Now I did extra stuff that helped create our budget for transport and our housekeeping department (we are put together under one director). I went full time 1yr into working there and then got dispatch position a few months later which paid slightly more money. Our base pay increased as the health system increased everyone for cost of living. Another year or so goes by and…

I just had a baby and was placed on maternity leave last month. My initial plan was to return to work after 2 weeks because I am the stable income in my family. My husband is a car salesman and his income varies(I will get to that in a second). During my hospital stay, my boss called and said they were going to pay me during my leave so I could spend time with my baby. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and they stopped paying me and I was given a bill for my health insurance due on the first just like our rent. Our rent just increased by $500.
