According to my contract, I was supposed to receive an initial $2000 payment yesterday (the first day of classes) for teaching this quarter. But I just found out from HR today that they unilaterally changed the pay policy this term, and I won't be getting my first paycheck until July 15. WTF? And BTW, this is my first post in this group. I hope I am doing this right. I just needed a place to vent.
I recently put in my 2 weeks notice that I would be leaving my current job as my new job starts next week, however I was a bit late and ended up only being able to give my notice with about 1.5 weeks left, due to situations outside my control. My new job was slow in confirming, and the day I was going to talk to my boss, he was not prioritizing me so I ended up being forced to wait until after the long weekend… anyways. So apparently big boss was upset that my notice was late and threatened to dock my pay(?), so my boss negotiated for me to instead work with no compensation (no comp time/overtime) at a Saturday morning event. I was not present for any of this, boss just came into my office Friday and told me I would have to come work Saturday, so…

One of the women, Jane, lost her son three months ago, hit a deep depression and went into a financial tumult. She is currently facing eviction from her home. She has been on a leave of absence from Coke since April, and was seeking an extension until August 1. Her manager, Kyle, had sent her letters asking for her to file for FMLA or STD. Since Jane has been in-between residences because of the whole eviction thing, she didn’t respond. Kyle had then called her to check up on her status and tell her to file the paperwork, because they didn’t actually approve Jane’s initial leave of absence after she lost her son, so she’s been on unapproved leave.
