Nothing irritates me more than a boss who acts like a politician and does everything he can to avoid giving you an actual answer and pushes blame on to others and never accepts any of his own. Today he told an employee to use common sense. The employee brought up getting a call in the middle of the night while on call, well we’re not open and operating at that time, don’t answer the call, use some common sense. Told today that if we don’t answer the phone while on call, we’ll be written up. Okay, so what if I’m taking a shit? Can you give me a timeframe that I have to be available to respond in? Well I’m not going to write you up if you don’t answer the phone but if the problem isn’t resolved… I literally make myself a target asking for specifics. A couple people…

Question – if allowed
Curious if there are any good things companies have done to give back to the workers?
And on my salary they're calculating that I'll be able to have an annual income of a whopping £16,300 MAXIMUM!! So glad that working for another 40+ years will give me an annual income of less than I currently make, roll on retirement!
FIRED! thank you letter
So, I have been working at this place for 7 years. I've produced amazing results with no opportunity for advancement. Well, my coworker and I interviewed for a manager position last year, she ends up getting it. I was pregnant so honestly, a bigger work load probably wasn't going to be good for me anyway. So, she gets the spot, and immediately starts harassing me. I tried everything, but she gets away with a lot. Long story short, she fired me last week. This week, I got four, yes FOUR job offers for positions WAY higher at another spot. Like, I interviewed for one but 3 other departmental managers in the interview wanted me. I ended up taking the original offer I interviewed for. It's a way better schedule, job, pay, etc. Sooooo, what's a sweet gift I can send to my old manager to say “thank you for firing…
Hi all. Someone said this was a place to talk about my issues and get some advice. So here it is. I have been at my job (I am an accountant for a major company) for almost a year now. Todays issue: my boss got mad at me when she emailed me at 3:46 when I clock out at 4 that I didn’t do edits while I was working on another project. The email was not labeled as urgent, important etc. she then called me 7 minutes before I clock out and got mad at me for not doing the edits. I had no clue she needed it done so quickly. She didn’t even message me on teams. Over all issues: I have been doing 3 peoples jobs. I currently am in charge of about 10 things daily. My co worker? He does 3 things. I recently found out as…
Tired of it
I lost my job because I reported my supervisor for verbal/emotional abuse to a patient. I just wanted to do the right thing because of what I had witnessed. They fired me to save their own ass. I loved that job too.
I had a few days off because I was sick and yesterday, my coworker who is the main boss-buttlicker went to my pc and read my private chats and because my underpaid job is awful, me and some other coworkers often bitch about our awful treatment on our job and the buttlicking employees. And now this sniffy bitch read all that and probably told my boss about my bitching. I already planned to quit my job, but careful what you wish for, they might as well do me a favor. My question is, can my employer sue me or something for that? I don't know, maybe they could be trippin and tell me that I am turning the employees again the employers or something like that?
An employee comes to you in tears and confides that they are struggling with mental health issues and it is affecting their performance at work. What is your response? How do you reward hard working employees? How often would you say your establishment is understaffed? Would you consider this place of work to have a high turnover rate? What do you do to prevent employee dissatisfaction? What do you do to ensure employee safety? What is your response to an employee calling in sick? How would you describe the culture at work? If you were applying for this job, would you be satisfied with the compensation for the work you do? Is it in your opinion that everyone here is satisfied? Say you are in a situation where you have made a mistake and undercompensated an employee. What would you do? If I stay at the same rate of compensation…
She doesn’t want to hear how that is not possible. Everywhere is having rising rents and no rising pay. There is no rent protection when the lease comes up with hundreds to thousands more. She says, “You are too negative. How would you know if you can’t afford the rent somewhere else?” Um…I can start searching from home on the computer? “How do you know your minimum wage jobs won’t pay more (less) there? How do you know you can’t survive with the pay they might offer?” She avoids the news when it isn’t the View. She says I don’t know what I am talking about. I also don’t own a car or know how to drive. “Move, if you are not finding work here.” Sure, I will move to where there are less jobs, longer commutes, lesser resources for an autistic individual, no public transportation, and no female rights.…
I am defeated. Time to move on again.
21 weeks, 21 weeks at my job- and I already know I have to leave. I work selling cannabis, which is pretty much like any other retail industry these days. Before this, I specialized in liquor sales. In the end, it’s all kind numbing retail. When Covid hit I was laid off from my liquor selling job, a job I was hoping to go back to. Restrictions eased, work reopened, and I’ve never been called back. So, I applied to a Budtender job on a whim, and with my years of retail experience- I was a great candidate. I went into the interview hoping for day shifts at $17 an hour. I was convinced by management, that the quickest way to move up in the company was to work the afternoon shift to start, and earn my way to key holder and then assistant manager. Each coming with raises, as…
