Title says it all, I don’t even know wtf to do or what they’re talking about, I don’t want to call them back because now I’m stressed on my family vacation and I know I took care what I was responsible for before I left but WHAT THE FUCK. It’s my second job, and I really was miserable there but I wasn’t planning on getting fired from there- not like this at least. WHAT. THE. FUCK.
Month: July 2022
Guys today was a rollercoaster of events. The meeting started at 9:30 due to a code on my floor, the patient made it thankfully. We all got seated at about 9:35 and my recording started then. Me, my manager, PCC, director, and 2 reps from hr (one being hr manager and the other my recruiter) we have recruiters for each position at my hospital so nurse recruiter, tech recruiter, and so on. The first thing that was said was by my director and she looked at everyone and said we need a resolution today, our staff don’t need to be dealing with this and our daily workload, and frankly, this issue shouldn’t have gone as far as it did so let’s please begin. I was surprised she came since she has just gotten back from vacation but I was thankful. She was one of those directors that gave a crap…
was true and still true
Tell CEO to Re-Open Augusta!
This is the crew from the 1st Chipotle store to file for an election to form a #union as Chipotle United in Augusta, Maine. The day their hearing with the NLRB was set to take place, Chipotle closed their store. https://preview.redd.it/fvnu6f7mg4e91.jpg?width=992&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b94c91de1215d3358764992f1cb1a6587a2faf9 Chipotle’s corporate greed and disregard for worker rights has been put on full display. The rest of the country is now seeing the two faces of #Chipotle that workers in New York City, organizing a #ChipotleWorkersUnion, have experienced over the past two years – a company that claims to serve “food with integrity” but has a track record of disrespecting the rights of its workers. In SOLIDARITY, Click the link to send a letter to CEO Brain Niccol: https://seiulocal32bj.salsalabs.org/reopenaugustachipotle because we’re calling on Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol to: -Re-open the Augusta store: they are ready to work and are willing to work at other, near-by, Chipotles until their…
I am currently doing well (by my standards) and I make close to 2400 take home (post taxes/benefits/401k) every two weeks. I am paid every Friday which is also great knowing I always have some money coming to me
I quit my job the first day
There were some red flags before my first day. Like they told me remote work would be fine after a week of training in-person. Also I would need to travel to their office 30 min away from me when there are 2 other offices closer to me. But then, the week turned into 2 weeks of training with the first day being in the office 30 min away and then the office closest to me. But then, that 1 day turned into a week. Then told me that they will “see how I'm doing” after 2 weeks to see if remote was an option for me. When I got to the office I walked in and asked for my boss. The lady said she wasn't aware of me starting today but took be downstairs into this basement and opened the door to nothing but beige cubicles and bad lighting with…
Last Saturday I woke up in the middle of the night with chest pains, I was scared and called out of work because I thought I may have needed to go to the hospital. I should note, I do not have health insurance at all. My boss demanded that I come in; I told them that I was going to go to the hospital (at the time I was) and then I waited around to see if my chest pains would get worse. I really wanted to avoid actually going, as I don't want the medical debt. After about 6 or 7 hours, the severe pains stopped. They stayed mild the rest of the day, I took some tums and acid reflux medicine thinking that perhaps I had a severe case of Heartburn (I've never had it before) and within a day or so they disappeared. My boss…
No fire sprinklers, no PPE: what to do?
The details: I am a part time worker at a summer job. I live in Southern California. This is a corporate retailer of pool supplies. The problem: We have no fire sprinklers in a building full of toxic combustibles. We have no PPE for handling the carcinogenic powder (diatomaceous earth) that keeps arriving in split bags and spilling all over the place. Our District Manager has made no move to get these open bags out of our building. We have no safe place to store them in the meantime. The moral quandary: while this is just a summer job for me, my manager relies on this to support his family. He’s in the same boat as me but much worse, because he doesn’t get to walk away at the end of summer. The question: If I were to raise the alarm, how would I do this? Is there a safety…
