I was outraged by this. The tenor of the article is to be polite and professional, and don't blast the company. Eff that. You quit your job to go work for them, you have nothing, and yet you should be discreet. Oh, and take a few days off to grieve and get.your thoughts together. Who the actual F*** can take a few unpaid days just to get compose themselves? This is personal because I came very close to this. Several rounds of interviews, told I was preferred candidate, group president cancels the role before the offer. Meantime, I found something actually better, but, wow. It's already a crazy situation with we're getting a new store manager, and she was thrown in with not much training and we're under staffed. I've been doing what I can to help out, but it's turning into about acting like assistant manager even if i'm paid a normal sales person's pay. I was told I was being interviewed at some point for assistant but that's all I know. Like today I had to go in open to close on my normal key holder type duties, when I was counting up the drawer to start the day, the district manager called to see if I could ask another girl coming in to work a day she was supposed to be off, I told her don't be afraid to say no if she had anything going on. Then I had to deal with another guy arguing about something being full…
A Little Background: I got my first job at a store 2 minutes up the road purely for the fact it was a brand new building and 2 minutes up the road. After only 2 months of working my manager offered to promote me to keyholder! I took the position purely for the experience simply because I want to own my own store one day and this would look awesome on a resume and would be useful knowledge. Turns out it was not worth it and I'll explain why, but I also got a raise from a total of 9$ an hour to….. 10$ and hour… My boss is very laid back (which I like) but she's a little to laid back. She seems to think if I see her do something one time no matter what it is I become a master at it. In her defense I have…

“That’s against policy”
I’ve been working at the self checkout area of the store I’ve been recently hired at and it scares me how upset people get at these machines. A lady today punched the screen because SHE kept pressing the wrong button. When I helped her I input how many bags she bought from the store and when the machine read out “ 1 store bag. 10cents” she got upset and stated “ you have to pay for bags now? That’s against policy.” I walked away. I was not about to deal with a lady who is willing to punch a screen. No thanks
