I work in IT. I can do my job 100% from home, and did during the height of the pandemic. For some unknown reason we’ve been forced back into the office since summer 2020. I got COVID after avoiding it for 2 and a half years. I was vaxxed (but not boosted) so it didn’t hit me very hard but it was about a week recovery. I took the whole week off work (during our busiest time of the year) and the sad part is…I’d do it all again. I think it’s an absolute shame I’d rather Ben coughing my lungs up and running a fever, than be at work. I hate my job. I turned to my wife the day before I had to go back and told her I wouldn’t mind getting sick again. Luckily I got to work from home the week after, so I haven’t gone…
Month: August 2022
Title speaks for itself. I'm a temp and also the only advanced Excel user in the entire operations department. I get paid pennies on the dollar for something that only I know how to do, with no guarantee of full time employment. I purposely slack off even though there are things I can do to overhaul the entire department; they are getting what they paid for. Today, my boss popped the question: “can you make something to do all this automatically.” Unfortunately, I've told the truth. I am not looking at a full time position after this contract. I am looking at a 6 month extension in the office with a ️ ONE DOLLAR an HOUR ️ raise for total of 8 months as a temp. Long story short, I am getting scammed. I've decided to not create my boss's magic button until my department change. I am not going…
I feel like every decent playing job will require me to make connections, give presentations, or strive for better numbers to please a board. I hate it. I just want my work to be the same and I want to not have to think about it when im off the clock. Im super introverted and can force myself to be outgoing, but when I’ve done it in the past, it’s been so exhausting that I resort to drinking heavily.
This happened to my friend today

IT FINALLY HAPPENED!
I was finally fired from my job after quiet quitting for a couple months! They fired me because they were getting rid of my position but I totally count quiet quitting as the reason why they chose me over my coworkers lol. That is all be jealous and carry on. Just kidding, there's more to it. I actually have a question for whoever knows the answer to this. So I applied for a fun job which is working at a haunted house (again, be jealous) which is part-time and starts in September and it ends in October. Would it be too early to apply for unemployment benefits? I'm in Texas if this helps anyone. Thank you! I love all of you
I took an entry level sales and management position with a company and have been exceeding my bosses expectations, however the operations are a mess and its part of my job to fix it. On my second week I was already planning on quitting when I came down with COVID, had to call out sick for a whole week…. (the commute is too long, the pay isnt as good as i thought, and the hours are rougher than i imagined) I wouldve just quit then but my boss told me the company would continue to pay my base salary while i was home sick….. so I milked it; now Im about to txt my boss im not coming back to work (theyre already understaffed even if i was on board)…. tough break
I think I’m finally ready to leave
I had a vacation planned from 8/23 to 8/30 and on the last day of my vacation they just had an off day and not a “paid vacation” day and I assumed it to be like that so I wouldnt have to miss an extra day of work since we only have one other delivery driver at my store. I get told on my vacation on 8/26 that I would have to come in Tuesday. I tried to explain I took off Tuesday for my vacation but they said I didn't and it was only an off day so I had to come in. By Monday 8/29 I got a hold of the vacation calendar and saw that I scratched out that Tuesday so I questioned it. They said by law they can change my off day whenever so I had to come in. I connected HR, raised hell, and…
