I’ll keep it short. I work at a doctor’s office and the place is an absolute dumpster fire. Manager doesn’t know what the hell is going on, short staffed to an extreme, and these patients can all have a heart attack I really dont give a flying fuck anymore. Anyways, if I don’t show up tomorrow there’s pretty much no one to cover me. Dont care, thats the manager’s problem. I’ll make up some bullshit but if they press me, I’m ready to quit. I don’t need this job, but I also dont have anything lined up. Anyways I dont know what the point of this post is, just felt like sharing.

Hi! Mostly I see posts about shitty bosses on r/antiwork, but the sub appears to be about ending work, and I was wondering – is the goal to get all of us, globally, free from working? So, we would have self-sufficient homes, and A.I. and robots to do all tasks we don't want to do ourselves? If so, cool! I am a college instructor, and with 18 years left to retirement, and I wonder – will A.I. replace me before I can retire? I feel like it is close. And, are we looking at maybe 100 years before even the most specialized doctors and scientists are also replaced? Should we be instructing students on how to live off the land? How do we get to “antiwork”?

So I have landed at a place where the owners appreciate employees, understand work and home life balance. The whole nine… yet I still find myself paranoid as hell and on edge a lot of the time because of my previous employer of three years that treated me like human garbage. I can say that the grass is greener on the other side! But y’all i honestly am a bit fucked up from my old job… anyone else feeling this?

I need to be out of my apartment to move last day of sept. I put in a request a month ago, beginning of August and thought that would be it. I get a notification today my request was DENIED. I message my boss and ask what’s up. She said no availability to approve my time off and i ask if I used a different type of time off if that would make a difference, and NOPE. So I tell her well it’s less of a request and more of a I’m telling you, I CANNOT work. I HAVE to be out that day and cannot work. I’m giving them ample time to find someone to cover because they can schedule me all they want but I’m not working.
