Managers helping managers

I work somewhere where the managers know each other for ages and are friends outside of work. Which is fine, whatever. People are polite and friendly. But when we f*** up, the peasants, the reaction is different. At first, I thought, hey new career = I’m learning, so I’m making small mistakes. But the past couple of weeks, when managers miss something, I keep getting the blame even thought they clearly didn’t do the work as much as we are excepted to do it ourselves. It’s a massive downer because it’s okay to say you missed something rather than always brush it off; it keeps the trust and the team together. We are humans. What I find funny is to see my colleagues, just about anyone, rather lie and die than say “oh shit” I missed it. My bad, and move on. Working in this type of cooperate environnement feels…

Is building a tiny house the only viable option for younger Americans?

Outside of bigger cities such as Los Angeles, NYC and Boston, a typical job pays from $13-$20ish an hour. Studio/1 bedroom apartments are anywhere from $1,300 to $2,000 a month. Normal houses are going anywhere from $275k-$450k. What the hell is anyone under the age of 35 supposed to do??? Even if one had a good paying job of around $60k after taxes, they’d still likely be stuck in the renting cycle between other rising costs. Are young Americans supposed to just build a tiny house next to their parents house?!?

Ian is barreling towards FL and my employer, closing the next two days, says that if you want to get paid, use vacation time. Not even allowed to use sick time.

Capitalism will burn everything down for short-term gains. This country is disgusting. That's all.

When I was a kid, I wondered why people who worked full-time jobs were jaded and had given up on life.

they want to fire me for pointing out my raise was disproportionate to the others

it’s simple. i do more but i get paid less? i got a 8¢ raise months ago while my very “competent” coworker got 24¢. i’ve been slowly getting more and more few up w the quality of work i have to do because i am literally referred to as someone that runs my area, by management, while i’m literally just a normal team member but i got 1 of the lowest raises? i sent a text expressing my want for a conversation and why “hey since i finally got to mention my thoughts on the raises to you, i’d like to open the conversation of us revisiting my raise. since it seems S— is qualified for a a raise that was over 2x more than mine while i am cross trained in multiple areas, pick at the same rate as S—-, and the only recorded complaint about me was my…
