How to lower housing prices
Just a heads up if you want to lower the cost of living do the following: Step 1: find a real estate post Step 2: publicly offer below the posted or market value Step 3: repeat and tell your friends to do it too The housing market is based so much on speculation now that speculating lower prices consistently will actually lower the prices.
It goes like this: “You’ve reached OP. You’re hearing this because I am either busy, driving, or I do not recognize your number. If you are important, you’ll leave a message. If you are work trying to call me in on my day off, your offer better be good. Otherwise, have a good day.” I have received calls attempting to call me in on days off, and I’ve been called into the office and spoken to by my boss saying it is unprofessional to have such a voicemail, and it hurts me as an employee because it somehow shows I am unreliable even though I work my ass off every day I work. I’ve even been threatened to be fired over it. AITA?
Hi guys :)
This sub tends to focus on things that management does wrong. I’m curious about ways that managers that are part of this sub actually try to break the mold and actually support their team.
So basically I started working at this company in March. I wanted to enjoy working there but it has been the most life-draining, soul-sucking experience of my life. The amount of pressure and stress at this company was unreal. I would have several breakdowns and was pretty much unhappy from the start but wanted to try and work with them before I considered quitting. Anyway, apparently I was doing a good job and got promoted 2 months ago (i’m new to the country and found out that when they brought me on, my compensation was peanuts compared to my team. Probably because I have less experience but was taking on the exact same role). Fast forward to now, I had an interview with another company last week and 2 days later they got back to me with a job offer starting the 24th of Oct. I informed my boss today…
A certain hospital in FL (rhyming with ShmadventSmelth) is requiring us to come in for our shift, clock out when we’re done and sleep for 12 hrs until the next shift. This is commonly how our hospitals tend to do things when it comes to hurricanes but the big key difference is WE ARE PAID the entire time we are here. This sounds like kidnapping to me but I have been wrong before. Is this legal??
I got hired as a product demonstrator for high end grocery stores. It's just a side gig, only 4 hours and about $60 a paycheck. It's usually during the weekends and I've realized it's hard because I work a lot of catering events during that time. So far they have been sending me products that nobody cares about and its hard to push. I don't wanna act like a clown to draw the attention of customers. I talked to as many but they expect to sell like 20 pints of x vegan ice cream which is impossible unless the pint is like $1 but we are talking about $10 per pint. So the supervisor of the company contacted me through text to complain that the ice-bucket that I was given by the associate was huge. I texted, “Well they told me that's all they had.” And she went, “Who are…
Narcissist manager
I worked at a call center doing political surveys. Until the end of the day today. First off, there are definitely points in this story where I could have done better, but my point still stands that he is a narcissistic shithead. I was talking with a coworker between calls till he came up to me and told me to do my job. The problem here is that I was doing my job. I had even helped that coworker with some questions earlier. And our job is to do surveys and in-between calls they give us nothing to do. So I tell him I am doing my job look at the board.(the board lists our stats) This was my first mistake. He then stood over me very aggressively and said “are you going to listen to me or not?” I dropped it. Thinking throughout the day though I couldn't let…
I was just let go from my new job after only 4 weeks because they claimed I wasn't working at all. Long story short, this job is a work from home position and has a 4 week training policy and I was in my final week. I talked with my manager and he was just about to let me start working early since I was getting a bit restless watching all those training videos. A few hours later I get a call from my recruiter telling me the company has decided to end my contract since they have proof I was not working for 80+ hours I was speechless when I heard this. I asked them which dates specifically did I not work and she threw out a few examples. One of those was my first day! I quickly logged into the system and grabbed screenshots of all my work…
