There's a book, chances are you haven't heard of it, titled “The 4 Hour Work Week.” To be clear, I'm not recommending reading it (no need, really. It was prescient at the time but dated now). The description and title tells you everything you need to know: The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9–5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich is a self-help book by Timothy Ferriss In other words, basically, work remote, don't do an extra 50% for a 3% raise, maximize your own time. I'm betting that most people in the business world (especially middle managers) have either heard of the book and what it says, or read it.

I work at a chain coffee shop that takes advantage of their workers. Keep complaining about knee pain and all the old women that overhear me kept recommending aspercreme. It's working! But I feel like a 26 year old shouldn't have knee problems from their job 🙁

Basically title. I had an interview for Sea World. I am extremely qualified for the job and was confident I would be offered the position. The interview was scheduled for last week and was over Zoom. I log on at the scheduled time and….. nothing. No one joins. After 5 minutes I double check that I have the right date and time. I do. I wait until the end of our scheduled interview time. He never showed up. Meanwhile I continued refreshing my email and had my phone next to me. No word from them. I called and left a voicemail confirming what our scheduled interview time was and that I was still interested in the position. I also sent an email saying I tried to contact them via phone but was unsuccessful and reiterated my message. I had no response for SIX DAYS. I had moved on from the…
