A friend contacted me in December to talk to an owner opening a new restaurant for me to be the GM, while she ran the bar (which is her passion). She’s known the owner and his family for a while, and I’ve known her for a while. (Hell, I was the minister for her wedding.) So, by connection, I bought in to it when he said I was family. Month: September 2022
Im only 20 and work a full time job at a grocery store as a night time shift lead. I've been working here for the past 9 months to pay off for school and I'd consider it my first full time job (first job was at a cafe). Especially if we're forced to do this shit for decades on end in the hopes we can spend the remainder of our life in retirement? Yeah, fuck…
Corporations.
So I just got back from leave and I told my boss prior that I wanted to have more shifts when I come back and he said yes. Now I’m back and I haven’t been scheduled for the second week in a row and I haven’t been told anything despite asking numerous times. I’m currently looking for another job but I’m scared it’ll be just like this one I’ve got now (toxic environment), but I don’t know what to do between now and then…
