I've gone to several job fairs over the years either when I was employed or unemployed. I mostly go to get information that I might use so i can brush up on my skill set. Now with the job engines like careerbuilder, indeed and the like, do you think Job fairs are a waste of time? In some cases I've been there and the recruiters don't want to be bothered or tell you they're not hiring before you open your mouth to ask. Other times they're just there to advertise and not actually hire anyone. On some occasions they've had on the spot interviews. Unfortunately, they won't call you till a few months later or lucky if they call you at all.

Tower Colliery
When it comes to forming unions and feel good stories, you guys should look into tower colliery. It’s “closed” now but still exists and it becoming quite a tourist destination with its new zip line for anyone going to Wales soon. I was there this summer. But to me it shows what can be possible when workers work together for the good of all.
I’m bored let’s discuss
Why tf do we need money. As humans, why do we need currency for anything, why do we have to kill ourselves for some man made shit. I have this debate all the time, I would fucking love to live a more hunter gatherer type lifestyle, wake up, survive, live fucking life. I would much rather stress about surviving than having these useless man made stresses. That’s my opinion, what’s urs
we are not the same
Just to be clear, its a trap.
How do you take PTO?
I recently got my first full-time job. I just submitted (or “requested”?) my second PTO day (only one day). My question is: should I talk to my boss before requesting? At my level, I won't miss much and honestly no one will probably notice I'm off, but it feels a bit weird just saying “I'm off on ___” to my boss. I know PTO is part of my contract and I really should not have to “ask”, but I still want to be respectful since my boss has been super nice and understanding.
