The title is a joke for Canadians or Jann Arden fans. I am genuinely asking for advice on how to give less of a shit at work. I know, intellectually, all the things about why I shouldn't skip my breaks or stay late, just because they don't schedule enough people to work at a comfortable pace. But it bothers me to leave things a mess. It bothers me to know that my coworkers are dealing with a mess I left, because I know how stressful it is to work in a chaotic environment. I also just have a hard time with time management in general, so it's really hard for me to say 'ill just do x and then take a break at y time'. I'm often not done by then, or something unexpected comes up ,and it throws me off. I think I might have ADHD tbh, if that…

Advice Needed!
Hi all! To keep this short and straight forward, I am looking to switch careers. I'm currently a teacher and I do not feel safe at my job. It's taxing in all aspects BUT I loved teaching! Have any of you switched careers ? What did you do to start the process? I have an education resume so I'm researching other resumes to get an idea of how other workforces portray their resume. Any advice or directional approaches? I thank you in advance.
I'm also thinking of designing cooperative forms of Upwork (let's call it Freelance Work Marketplace for now) and LinkedIn (let's call it Company/Candidate marketplace for now) so we can strengthen cooperative global communities and promote the use of cooperative services instead of undemocratic alternatives. Only cooperatives would be allowed on the the Company/Candidate marketplace platform and cooperatives on the plaform will be encouraged to team up to complete projects (to form a collective and pool resources to tackle specific project requirements). All 3 of these services would be part of one site. I came up with this idea because of my struggle in finding work that checks my specific requirements (remote anywhere, freelance, digital cooperative) and the difficulties I am experiencing in finding other cooperationists to network with – and I feel like I have to give up and work at yet another hierarchical organisation. I don't want to do…
On Monday I talked to the gm he said how much would I want what would make me happy. Honestly I don’t know what I should ask for. I asked for $16.50 an hour as an assistant manager. On the phone interview he said they start at $16 an hour but he can work with 16.50. But his goal in a couple weeks is to have me as a store manager when I’m done training. It’s a kind of small ice cream shop business with multiple stores throughout the state. He was going to hire someone else but she was expecting $23 an hour which was too much he said. I’m not expecting $23 an hour. I want to make as much or more then McDonald’s/Taco Bell etc managers make. I believe shift leaders make $15 and the regular workers who are teenagers make $14 an hour(min wage). I know…
Started at a new place a little over a month ago and I’ve been taking a lot of notes because the position is a new initiative. They’re asking me to write up a training manual for a new hire based off of my notes. I still have a lot to learn and I don’t feel qualified to write an objective training manual when I don’t know everything either. Idk I understand my notes but I don’t think someone completely new would. How should I go about this?
Thoughts about this?
Thoughts on this? This is coming from a skilled nursing facility with severe staffing shortages in every department. Facility offers premium free benefits for full time and pays $19 + $2.35 MI state supplemental pay/hr for CNAs. Most employees are being mandated for doubles about once every week (with $150 bonus for full mandate, $75 for half mandate), and most of the facility is frustrated by seemingly “pointless layers of administration.” Didn’t blot out the name because it’ll easily pop up on a google search and is publicly available.
Looking for the right job
I'm looking for the right job that can pay decently, all the good paying jobs have been nepotized and gobbled up by corrupt stinge, the high paying jobs are for MEN ONLY and they will not hire me. There are low paying jobs GALORE but I wouldn't be getting anything better than what I presently have. And I am underpaid for the work I already do
