this sub needs to STOP
I swear every post on this sub stating a problem, the top advice is “go to HR.” it's MIND BLOWING to me that anyone on this sub can think this is good advice. HR IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. THEY ARE NOT YOUR ALLY. THEY ARE NOT THERE FOR YOU. HR exists to protect the company and will always always always choose to protect their business over their employees. Stop suggesting this. Stop upvoting this. This is harmful.
this is my original post on r/kitchenconfidential Today I got an update so tomorrow I've got a meeting with him and HR. looking how to preserve my job and CYA. Know what I mean? And do not worry! No matter what I will not quit!
I feel like this falls under the shady but legal category, but I’ve found some conflicting info online, so I’m wondering if anyone knows if the following is legal in MD. Mid year, PTO and sick leave policies were randomly changed to an hourly accrual based system from a yearly accrual system. For me, this means my 80 hours vacation that was due to come at “renewal,” (a month past the change), was essentially erased, although I was granted 50% of my PTO based on the previous yearly accrual in an “effort to be fair”, meaning I got 40 hours PTO, and the rest can be accrued. Same with the sick leave. Hoping someone knows.
