I have left jobs because of “If it cost you your Peace, it's too expensive”. I have worked for horrific bosses. I redid my resume, I said I worked at a previous employer longer than I really did and didn't put down my actual last employer. I have great rapport with previous co-workers who I have as my supervisors so when they get called for references they know the drill. I interviewed for this great position, 2-2 hour interviews! All praise and even the HR interview said I got a thumbs up, sent me the benefits/pay schedule said the manager really wants me, this was on Monday. Haven't heard anything back. I asked if they would like my social for the background check (I didn't give it to them, just offered in case they wanted it since she said the last thing is a background check) and its now Thursday….…
Month: September 2022
I just don’t feel like it, it isn’t even in any reason in particular other than finding a new job, I just feel like I’m there wasting my time
I'm an independent contractor, I haven't had a boss in a few years now. It's put a lot into perspective. For example: “I'll ask my boss to see if I can move” (works from home) “I'll ask my boss if I can take the day off” (several months from now) “My boss is gonna yell at me” “When I'm retired, I'm gonna travel everywhere!” “I'm too tired after work to do this (insert activity required for general health)”
Fuck Capitalism. Fuck Misery!
My boss disgusts me. My entire family, except for myself, was hit with covid. My son's school told us that he cannot attend until he has fully recovered. He is in the first grade and tested positive on Monday. Today marks the 4th day that he and I have been home. I called my boss to inform her that despite my son now testing negative for Covid, the general policy for the school is to keep them out at least 5 days. So I told my boss I'll need tomorrow, Friday, off but will be in on Monday. I then get a reply from her saying that I'm taking too much time off and that I need to supply her with documentation that he cannot go to school. I then call the school and all they can send me is the policy involving covid and how long they need to…
Still on 1 year probational period..
So i'm still on my 1 year probational period where unfortunately i only get 2 personal days off and no vacation… My grandfather is very sick and dying at the moment, he's out of country and i decided to book a plane ticket to go see him for 2 weeks. My company wants to fire me for asking 2 weeks off for urgent family matters. Me, a good working employee, in a short staffed department, where we have trouble even keeping people for 3 months at a big telecom company in the US…. My boss literally complains every day how we're not finding enough people to accomodate our call centers… I just told my boss that i'm ready to accomodate and put in some extra hours when coming back, working weekends maybe as well…. They don't care.. I get that i'm on a probational period, but still it's a rather…
Why is burnout not normalized?
Why? I am drained I work in the medical industry. I was told simple 9-5 no weekends. Now they’re too cheap to hire help or I am overworking this turned to 7 days a week and 8-7 I don’t get extra overtime. I’m completely burnt and dare I ask for a day off my probation will be in jeopardy. Fuck Work not to mention I’m doing 3 peoples jobs.
