Month: September 2022
My employer is paying me an entire month after the original date they said the check would go through on. First there was issues with my banking number and I was fine with that since it may have been my fault but my paycheck got pushed back to the next pay period. Then something happened on their end and I didn’t get payed yet again but they said they figured it out and said I’ll be paid next week. The only reason I haven’t pushed back as far as getting my check earlier is because I didn’t NEED it right now but if I did I would’ve been pretty much screwed I’m wondering if there are any actionable steps to get this check earlier or if I even should seek some kind of help with this (again if i did need the check immediately i totally would’ve demanded the check…
Work not going by availibility
Im a first year college student and don’t want to work as much in college as I have online work I have to complete as well. I go to school Monday through Friday for 8 hours and go to work right after some days, so I didn’t want to be working more than 3 days so I have ample time to get everything done and still have a life outside work and school. I started a new job two weeks before school and told them I only wanted 3 days a week but it didn’t matter which of those 3 days and they were fine with it. 3 weeks go by and it’s going well and now they’re starting to schedule me 4 days a week. I want to bring it up to them but I feel like they’ll tell me just to work it and it’s only four days.…

Corp slave here with a question
Had a director deny my request to transfer to a virtual wfh role. I’m only in the office once a week now but my gf got an offer in a different state so we are trying to move. I told my director he should be ashamed of himself for the response he gave me as to why it was denied and now he’s threading that this could be terms for termination. A) does he have a claim? B) is there any legal reason HR must abide by to allow an individual to go remote?
If someone works 40+ hours a week, why shouldn't they be able to afford to manage medical conditions they didn't ask for and can't do anything about? What does it take to be worth more than misery?
My proudest abusive boss moment
When I worked in packaging, the company was absolutely terrible. I was 10k underpaid. My boss was a giant bitch to everyone but we got along ok. By the end we had spent 2 years working together, and for most of it we had a decent relationship. We were kind of like aunt-niece more than employer-employee. We joked a lot, she told me about crazy her life, I made her laugh. I would drive her to the train station for free every. day. I drove everyone in the department. It was my pleasure, really. Then I confided in her about how my previous boss caused me to burn out. I had therapy and everything. It was 8 months of pure hell, I cried every morning and had panic attacks, which I don’t usually have. Little did I know, all I did was give her ideas about how to effectively abuse…
