Some managers just want information deposited into their brain as quickly as possible with no regard to the mental anguish it might cause some one else. That what business is, outsourcing the mental anguish so execs can focus on 'strategy.'

Manager is making me uncomfortable
For starters she makes assumptions about me and or if I did anything she called me a “good boy” after I had glasses but the issue is that she’s unattractive so it makes me uncomfortable rather than flattering + only people that I like can call me that. she wants me to leave my phone at the computer as if I was a little kid because she thinks I take too many bathroom breaks (2) she asked me what condition I had to justify wanting to use the bathroom twice that one day. When she’s not at work or watching me I’m actually more productive at the restaurant. Anyways, I don’t like her, she’s a problem and I have 4 people now wanting to unionize
Employer missed my paycheck – advice?
I do not want to quit and enjoy working here. This is a multibillion dollar company that should not have these issues. They acknowledged their mistake but cannot give me a concrete answer on when I will get paid and claim it is impossible for them to pay me immediately. At the soonest it will be 9/9 or included with a 9/15 paycheck. This would have gone unnoticed had I not checked and followed up. Is there any reasonable action to be taken here? Is a DOL claim possible if they claim they are going to pay me eventually? I had to borrow money from family to pay rent today and other bills in the next few days. Employment offer states semi monthly pay.
Let’s start this off by saying: Quiet quitting, good version: Doing The Work You Are Paid To. Only what’s in job description. Advocating for your rights. Doing what is expected of you but not above and beyond for no extra pay. Quiet quitting, bad version: not working anymore but showing up to work. Sweet talking management into getting to leave early. Not getting fired cause you’re a management favorite. I work at a restaurant. I host and I buss. They pay very well. One of the best paying places in my city. I’ve been bussing more recently and have been exposed to the faults of my coworker who we will call Bryan. (That’s not his actual name.) Bryan and I were hired on the same day, me as host, him as busser. I left for 2 months for a trip then came back and started bussing and hosting. He belittles…

1999 was an oddly excellent year.
Fight club, Office space and the matrix just to name a few films from 99…something was in the water.
I had to relocate for this job, because of their obsession with being in office. Even tho I did said job remotely for 6 months. They started with volunteer days in office, then started forcing once a week with one more day of your choosing. Now they just announced we must be in on 2 days that they decided, and went from open desk to assigned seats. I am infuriated because it feels like we are being treated like children. Currently looking for new jobs but any company that tries to force people to do this shit is the devil. Let us work how we want, where we want, when we want.
This is their strategy to deal with inflation, which they've stated explicitly (https://mronline.org/2022/05/26/u-s-federal-reserve-says-its-goal-is-to-get-wages-down/) Right now we are at a period of high supply and low demand due to supply chain issues and Russia's war with Ukraine, so instead of increasing supply, they are actively and strategically trying to reduce wages… which will decrease all of our bargaining power, and in all probability cause a recession and mass unemployment. Isn't the entire point of this horrible capitalist system that capitalists will step in and meet demand, and then competition will reduce prices? I know that's now how it works, it's just frustrating to the point of rage to watch the only strong labor market of my lifetime be purposely tanked by the Fed rather than let capitalism figure out ways to hold up its end of the bargain for once. This is why people are so receptive to the message that…
