It was an awesome Google sheet that showed cost of living per decade for the USA. I meant to save it but now can’t find it anywhere. I thought it was in this sub. Does anyone know?
Ok so I quit my old job two months ago. I hated it, very stressful at the time. My new job is boring as fuck and feels like I’m wasting 8 hours of my life every day. Now, I was asked to come back to my old job with a hefty increase in salary. I’m pretty sure it would be as stressful as before but they would pay me 30% more than before. Makes me think I was very underpaid before. Would you take it?
I do not understand what the big deal is about engagement or being challenged at work. I have no desire to be challenged. I am only there so I can make enough money to pay my bills and eat. Our company has some kind of policy about trying to help us with our “career aspirations”. I have no desire to share any of that info with them as it is personal to me. I am engaged just enough to do my job and that is it. Anyone else have opinions on these things?
Fun Fact….
Fun fact, in 1968 the federal minimum wage in the US was $1.60 which would be $13.62 in todays dollars. That is exactly a 46.7695 % decrease in actual spending power compared to today’s minimum wage of $7.25. Next time a boomer tries to tell you how they used to clean dishes for 2 dollars an hour and how they would have loved to be paid $10 for flipping burgers, tell them to go f*** themselves.
