I've been seeing this quiet quitting go viral and I'm like, I've been doing this half my life. The only time I've given more for my job is when it's written in a contract or I really like my boss (only happened once). I'm well liked by my employers because I get my work done, on time, organized and never have to spill in to my home life. “Quiet quitting” should be the standard for all workers, not just those disgruntled and ready to leave.

I know that sounds super silly, but I just wonder. I called out this morning because I had a breakdown in the middle of the night and thought it might be best for me to be home and chill out. When I called, she hesitantly said “that’s okay” and then asked if I was sick. I just said “yeah I’m not feeling great.” Was that like,,, acceptable for her to do?

So this week I returned to work at a health care facility I had interned at this spring. I heard that they were losing a lot of staff over the past few months but thought little of it. Turns out that the entire building is full of black mold. Not only that but they attempted to remove large portions of the mold without proper ventilation, thus making the mold airborne. Multiple staff members have fungal infections, migraines, and coughs. OSHA has been contacted and the administration has filed for an extension on coming up with a plan. Various other health administration offices have been contacted, but given that our higher ups know them, nothing has been done. In the meantime, we are still taking on clients who remain unaware of the hazardous conditions they are staying in (it is an inpatient unit). I am only in my third day back,…

Was terminated from my job on the 23rd. Was told to submit my hours and that they couldn’t issue my final paycheck til I turned in the company laptop. I let them know I would turn it in the following day. I did. I also submitted my hours. Today is payday and I have no direct deposit from them and also went through my mail, no paycheck either. I am a bit nervous to have to contact them, as they weren’t the kindest. Any advice?
