I am just about at my wit's end with overbearing managers. To keep it vague, I was asked to do a project by the boss via text. So I go with a co worker to assess the situation and make a game plan. We were carrying a certain “tool” to inspect the situation and decide which “tool” would be the best to use, and whether we needed anything else. Within minutes of standing there, I get a text with a screenshot of my coworkers and I standing and discussing the situation. Apparently boss didn't like the “tool” we were holding and suggested something different, as well as wanting to know why we were doing the job before the area cleared of people (again, we weren't, we were just making a game plan). To add a little bit of background, I'm a dude in my late 20s and I've been working this office IT job for a national distribution company (Starts with an M) and I've been with them coming on 3 years now. By all metrics I really shouldn't be unhappy with my job. Decent pay, decent management/coworkers, and pretty good corporate benefits. However, I can't help but feel mentally and emotionally exhausted everyday after work. I'm hardly able to gather the energy to do anything other than eat dinner and maybe do a bit of “doomscrolling” before going to bed and starting the cycle again. Weekends aren't much better as I spend it recouping my energy, running errands, and maintaining social relationships all while dreading the upcoming work week. I work at a little Caesar’s and I have this one manager who is straight up so rude. She only speaks Spanish and is just so rude and always has something to say. Today she started yelling at me and belittling me and called all my coworkers over to see. She said everything she asks I better respond with “yes sir” next time. She said bye to everyone by obnoxiously hugging each one except me, and left. She’s rude to everyone and honestly I was just so tired of it and I just left and quit. The owners called me asking what was wrong and to please not quit blah blah blah. I told them that manager is the most incompetent, irresponsible, and under qualified manager I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve worked in a lot of jobs.
