They even tried to negotiate with me. A 2 week notice is a 2 week notice, after that, I’m gone.
Return to office – what to do ?
After three years of hybrid work (3 days in, 2 out) our ceo has unilaterally made the decision that everyone must come in 5 days a week. We are severely understaffed, especially with experienced employees. Myself and another guy are invaluable to the company. We are licensed professionals in a niche area so we’re hard to replace anywhere, but most importantly we are the only ones with crucial institutional knowledge – upper management knows this. I gave them my demands.10k raise and keep the hybrid schedule, or 30k raise and I’ll come in every day. I suspect they’ll agree to one or the other. My question is should I even entertain their offers to buy me back? Apparently a big reason the ceo made this call is because he thinks we’re heading into a recession and therefore people will be scared to quit. He’s using economic uncertainty and hardship as…
Gotta love the consulting industry
International education in most cases is a massive scam. Universities charge 3x the fees from us, and then get companies that do not want to hire us and we need to go back 'home' and that does not equate to the racism one faces.
I've been looking for work the last couple months and I just find it concerning none of the jobs try to entice people with the words “low stress.” In fact, most listings do the opposite and classify the job as a “fast-paced” environment to make it sound even more stressful. Does anyone else feel like this is just weird? I get trying to not attract slackers, but that doesn't mean people who are looking for positions with minimal stress aren't hardworking.

The most common ghost of all.
Antiwork OST #1
TL:DR Wife confronted boss about gossiping and 1 hour later received a message from office manager that she was terminated. Wondering if there is anything she can do or resources she can consult for being unjustly terminated. Hey Antiworkers, my wife F(34) is a temp. dental hygienist. She has been working at this Dentistry for 14 mos. as a temp and has chosen to remain a temp because she gets a higher hourly rate compared to if she was brought on full time. Prior to finding this job she had some PTSD from a prior office she worked at during the heart of covid. Her patient population consisted primarily of anti-vaxxers and in one instance after she requested that a patient put on a mask the patient shoved her to the ground after verbally assaulting her. I share that because it is now tough for her to work in this…
