Working for Strike Company
First let me say I am pro-union and have no problem taking absurds amount of money being charged to a Healthcare company while its workers negotiate for a better life. I work in pharmacy departments in CA and will be starting a new [side] job soon with a 3rd party company filling positions while workers strike. Obviously the hospital can't pay my wages forever. [Not mentioning patients because I shouldn't have to] I see this escalating long term over various health care systems over the next 5 months. My questions are 1) how can I make things worse for the company while not hurting myself, or The strikers leverage (like picking up massive OT???). 2) try to make the strikes last slightly longer [obvious reasons for myself, DAYS not months] and 3) just general advice from any healthcare workers who have gone through this. Letter of Resignation – Help!!
What should I say? I’ve been with the company for 5 years.
Late notice for pay cut
At my work we had a policy of “grace periods”, where when clocking in and out you have 7 minutes of leeway that would get rounded up/down to ensure a full shift would be noted. I've read that the state of Georgia (where the company is operating) requires pay cuts to begin after their announcement, and not effect hours worked before the announcement — but that is not the case in this situation.
Hi everyone, my girlfriend (we live in Florida) is in college and works as a waitress. It’s worth noting that she lives with her parents and has plenty of money saved up (plus I work and could help her out in an emergency) so money is not a concern here, so if she wanted to quit and find another job she could easily do so without any issue. When she was first hired, she was told that they just needed somebody to be on-call. She went in her first week for training, and once her training was done, she expected to shift over to just being on-call, but instead she was scheduled for several days. She’s typically scheduled to work at least 3 days of the week, and is on-call for 1 or 2 more. However, her workplace is short-staffed and any day she is on call there’s a 90%…
