My job got 100% worse over the past 2 weeks and I hate it but I can't quit as I need the money. If I get myself fired, I can at least apply for employment insurance. The problem is my job is less than a 10min walk from me and is at a business that I would need to go to again. So, I can't leave on bad terms. Please tell me how to get fired in a nice way.

(Yes, I am looking for a new job) I'm a crew leader for a company that has in-house events and also contract work. I'm being vague but it basically is physical work with constantly changing plans. My supervisor and the owner got into a physical fight a few months ago off the clock. Police, lawyers, etc. Supervisor never came back. I was basically told to step up and help out and 'do my best' while they found someone else. I set firm boundaries at the beginning of this crap because I know my worth. No pay raise, but I did get approved for unlimited OT pay. So not terrible. Owner just basically told me that they've decided they don't need supervisors, they're too expensive, etc. So my asking for compensation pay for doing supervisor work was rejected. Now I've gone back to just doing my basic job, refusing to do…

Long story short… learned the hard way that these vultures will waste your time. I used to think for high position that they would not post the salary in order to stop unqualified people from applying / stop them from being tempted to apply just bc of the money desperation even though they are not qualified for the job. ofc they are now only hiding the salary to trick you and waste your time with the lowest offer.

I’d only been there 2 months. It was CHAOS and drama from the second I started. In the end, my boss accused me of lying about placing orders (Insane), and I had the proof to show that I had placed them because obviously. It was just a bizarre place with horrible leadership. I don’t know what I’m going to do next, but I chose my own happiness over a toxic work culture and I’m really proud of myself for setting the boundary.

Hello, I work for a subcontractors sheet metal firm in the UK. We build aircraft parts. I've been working here for 25 years, the company has decided to move to another location, the department I am working in is moving and a lot of people have been made redundant. However I found out today I won't be made redundant, I am to work in another department in the same location. I was hoping I would get my redundancy money and be able to move onto another job. My question is how can I really get my own back on these guys? How can I hand my notice of 1 week to get maximum damage. Thanks
