Hey antiworkers, ​ Need some advice from your side. I'm a middle manager in a listed company, working and living in a country where it's very difficult to fire anyone without a massive severance package. I busted my ass for years only to discover recently (the magic of shared files on google drive) that my predecessor was paid 20% higher than me while being at a “lower” hierarchic level (ie less responsibility). Hey there- so you've read the title and you get the gist. We just don't know what to do now. He's texted his boss a few times (there's a few people in charge there). At first he told this particular boss to just send a check to our home address because his direct deposit had not gone through for some reason. We asked our bank about this, and they told us that the problem is not on their side, it's something to do with the company he works for btw. And also by the way, this boss never answers his phone. At present, I have a terrible work-life balance. I work five days a week, a little more than 40 hours a week in most cases. I'm marked as “any availability” because I was basically told that's what you have to be for this job. No two workweeks are the same, and no two shifts are the same, even. It feels like every day is waking up, going to work, going home, going to bed, and then waking up for work once again.
