I'm miserable at my job. I have posted about this before here, but recently my spouse and I have gotten into it over money. I'm confident that I can generate some income to cover some expenses, but generally, I am fine with scaling down our spending dramatically. They do not feel the same. So, now, I feel even more trapped as they want me to have a job lined up before I leave my current role… I am so exhausted by the time I am done with work that I don't have the mental bandwidth to search and when I do look, I just get depressed about the direction my career has taken since I have just adapted to what has been needed. (I am a “Jack of all trades, master of none, often times better than master of one” type.) I have expressed my misery, but rather than come…
I live in Washington state which has a non-compete law which states that's is illegal to make employees or contractors sign a non compete if they make under a certain threshold $107k for employees and $268k for contractors. No one at my company makes anywhere near those amounts. My employer made everyone at the company of around 50 people sign non competes saying they won't work for a competitor or try and poach any employees within 6 months of leaving the company. I wanted to turn them into the State AG reporting site but the site says that any complain made will be a part of the public record and can be seen by anyone, employer included. Is there a good anonymous way to turn them into the AG without my info getting out there?
I saw a Walmart Christmas commercial of a bunch of families baking cookies and decorating trees and having big dinners. The commerical said that Walmart loves families and knows that the holidays are important for families and that's why they should go to Walmart to satisfy all their holiday needs š Yeah, Walmart doesn't care and hates families. Walmart declines any day-off requests on all weekends in November and December. Also, it is considered Holiday Season, so if you call-in no-show, you are given 2 points instead of the usual 1. If you get a total of 5 points, you get fired. I asked off for Nov 1 on Oct 9th. It's currently Oct 25, and it's still “pending”. 16 days later, and it's still pending. I was told by one of the older cashier's that they're going to deny it simply because it'll be in November. All they care…
