Help me beat the system, dear anti-workers.
Month: October 2022
And not everyone can qualify for unemployment benefits. Even that bit of help is a positive cycle that repeats for a while, but many won't have it
Remember Remember the Fifth of November
Ladies and Gentleman…..it is time for the People of every nationality, culture, clime or place, to rise together, and seize back control of the means of production, our FREEDOM. We must strike Saturday the 5th of November. Why Saturday? This is when most people go out, travel, etc, the weekend is when only the most disrespected of workers are working. Healthcare and Emergency Services aside, most of the people working on Saturday are your service and support employees, the cooks, and cleaners, waitresses, and barbers. Not your lawyers, not your Senators, and Judges, those who sit atop their ivory thrones casting judgement upon us. Your bankers and CEO's are off playing golf at the local country club, while that club pays the caddies “a little better then minimum wage”. We the People should not just be SURVIVING, we should be THRIVING. By this year, 2022, the Government has stolen TRILLIONS…
I can feel it stirring up into a shitstorm already. Massive layoffs with high inflation, people struggling and competing against one another for even lower paid jobs than we've had in recent years and less capacity of jobs at that. Richies are just gonna hunker down with their steak & lobster. I can't imagine us coming out of this one the same. I still can't believe we didn't flip this world upside down after 2008….and I pray this time, we go to the streets. I pray we fight.
Amazon driver left for dead
I’m not enough of a team player.
Got told during my performance review that I don’t go above and beyond for the company and I just show up at 9 and leave at 5. (This is a remote job, but you better fucking believe I don’t respond to shit before 9 or after 5) Top that off, I put in a PTO request because I’m on the verge of a mental breakdown. Told my boss. Ignored the mental breakdown part. Got told it’s approved but I didn’t give enough notice and we’re going to have a “quick chat” (aka a hour long meeting) to discuss this and “general expectations going forward”. If you’re not going above and beyond for me, if you’re paying me shit, why the hell would I go above and beyond for you? I’m only here because rent ain’t free.
My Work Messed Up My Pay (vent)
I was on vacation all last week, supposed to have 40 hours paid out today. I got paid for 15.48 hours. So, when i went into work today i talked to HR and my store director. They said they'd called payroll already, and the rest of my money would be on next week's check. I said “i understand mistakes happen, i want my missing days paid out as overtime.” They told me absolutely not, and if it was that big of problem they would pay me in cash today and i could pay them back when i get the money next week. I can't use cash for any bills. All my banking is done online, and i also cant picture deposit paper checks over $300. The only thing i can pay for in cash is gas and groceries, everything else has to be a check or card so the cash…
I am going to hand in my resignation. I know I'm playing into their hands, and doing exactly what they want me to do, but I've had enough of being side lined and isolated and waking up dreading the work day ahead. Any suggestions on getting the biggest bang for my buck with this? My contract states a 2 week notice period and I work school terms only. I don't want to burn my bridges or do anything illegal. I am in finance. I'm willing to see it out till the end of term.
