I work in (mental) health care at one of the hospitals in my city. We are burnt out. We still have strict Covid policies and get yelped at it still all the time. Our case loads are astronomical and it seems like everytime I turn around I have a new duty to fight against as it's not in my unionized job description or duty. It's a sad state of affairs when mental health workers at a mebtal health hospital are not allowed mental health days. After almost 3 years of this nonsense the talking heads decided to have a week dedicated to thanking employees. So what are they doing? Well, they are giving us a free lunch at Christmas (normally a ticket is 3 bucks) and every Thursday until the end of the year they are giving away prizes of $60 gift cards. And by gift cards, they are giving…

I (31F) am about 2.5 months in at my new job. I was out for a short vacation for my brother's wedding and when I got back to the office today, I was told “the team” decided on our group Halloween costume for next Monday. Everyone was assigned a different character, and in my absence, I was assigned to be…Pig Pen. I consider myself a good sport but I just have no interest in participating in this stuff. I really don't want to dress as a filthy child on Halloween. Should I just be sick that day?

I work in a welding factory and drank the night before. Someone reported smelling alcohol on me and I was given a portable breath test at a local doctors office under my managers supervision. The test came back 0.03 and they fired me. I told my boss that could be from my mouth wash and wanted a blood test but he just ignored me. Is this legal in Ohio? This is a few days after my manager challenged me about a new young hire being faster than me.

I work for a remote company based in my state. We have people that live all around the state. We were told about an in person event last week that will be mid November on a Friday. It’s 4 hours away from me. The event is from 9-3. Recently my company gave us Friday afternoons off as a mental health weekend restart type thing. Going to this event I will not get home till 7pm on a Friday (that’s with no rush hour or accidents through all the major cities I have to drive through). I normally start my weekend at 4pm. Now since this mental health early weekend I have been starting them at 2. So having to get home this late will cut my weekend time. I raised the concern today with my supervisors and asked if we could plan these events during the week instead of Friday…
