For context : I've worked at this department for almost 4 years part time, once I finished school I applied for and got a full time, salaried position. It's with the same department, but higher up the ladder as I'm now at the same level as my old boss, we both report to the same supervisor now. I started my new role in June. Lately, I have been tasked to do things outside of my job description. I work in marketing, and I had some issues with a coworker who handles web design for our department. He has repeatedly not replied to my emails, not completed projects by the deadline, and it is affecting my ability to do my job for my clients. He works fully remote out of state and is the only person in our department that does that. Yesterday morning I had a meeting with him and…
I was recently Layoff at Xerox Corporation. I worked in the Salt Lake Valley area as a production tech. They recently charged me for a lease on my final check for a vehicle I no longer have and aren't providing my PTO. You can only contact the HR by email and they fail to respond that often or don't do what is asked or needed. What can I do to get their attention on this?
I just had minor abdominal surgery, to which I received a doctor's note stating that I could not lift anything over 10lbs for an entire month. So I've been in a different department, and slowly starting to get back into lifting since that's 90% of my job. Well, today I was told that the boss man thinks I'm being lazy. I've felt the angry energy coming off of him for a week now at this point but gave him the benefit of the doubt as there's no reason a functioning adult would think that I was being lazy. I'm constantly looking for things to do, but when they're all done what the hell am I supposed to do? I sweep the entire place multiple times a day even when it's not necessary, I wipe everything down, reorganize the shelves, etc CONSTANTLY. The other people I work with all sit on…
My boss made me sign a “probation” paper
As the title says I had to sign a 2 month “probation” paper (not sure of the correct term) in order to work. Is this in any way illegal or anything along those lines? I didn't think of this more until after signing them and now I feel a bit dumb. P.S it's a small business.

What Eating the Rich Did For Japan
Here's the link the much more informative original post, but some of these companies have properties in Indy so I figure this could be helpful to some since there's a class action lawsuit you can join. “You can read the filing here, and it includes gems like the following: “…beginning in approximately 2016, and potentially earlier, Lessors replaced their independent pricing and supply decisions with collusion. Lessors agreed to use a common third party that collected real-time pricing and supply levels, and then used that data to make unit-specific pricing and supply recommendations. Lessors also agreed to follow these recommendations, on the expectation that competing Lessors would do the same.” … “As of December 31, 2019, RealPage had over 29,800 clients, including each of the ten largest multifamily property management companies in the U.S.”
Workplace accident
Got in an accident at work, I’m a baker and a commercial mixer (~200lbs) fell over and completely smashed my toe, I had surgery to get it partially amputated yesterday, I have been in excruciating pain and medicine isn’t helping. Partly I just need to vent about how ignorant and stupid this is on the part of the business but it’s a small business and unfortunately doesn’t have to follow osha. I have a high pain tolerance and have been sick throwing up and crying it hurts so bad, workers comp is in progress but is there anything else I can do to be compensated for this? I’m gonna be out of work for 2+ months… Sorry if this is worded super poorly or anything!
Been working here for just under two months now. The start of our work week is Wednesday, and sometimes our schedule isn't posted until 11pm Tuesday night. Sometimes it's mid day but most of the time it's later. I'm getting really tired working a closing on Tuesday just to have the schedule posted after I'm asleep to find out I work the opening shift that morning. Isn't there some kind of laws against that? Tired of being underpaid and treated poorly. Is there anything I can do?
