CW: Strong language (just in case) Long time lurker, first time poster. I just got passed over for a promotion that was by all rights, mine. And I don’t mean the typical self-entitled, I think I can do this job better than everyone. I mean I was DOING the job for 6 months while my would-be predecessor sat and talked on her phone and kissed ass. The company just announced they’ll pay for the first $8k of tuition and certification programs for programmer languages and various IT certification are free through Coursera. I’m getting my Supply Chain management certification on the company’s dime, and then dipping. Until then, I’m not lifting a finger to do ANY extra work. Screw this retail rat-race of a fruit-stand.

Somehow we were convinced that if big businesses make money, the middle and poorer class will see the impacts of said money. Economic indicators change almost every decade in order to ensure the numbers look good “economically”, but socio-politically/economically, everyone below the rich class get significantly poorer. Capitalism has really clowned the entire world. I’m not saying socialism or any other autocratic govt is better. It’s about damn time we developed something different.

I ranted about this to a lot of people but not in full and I recently started a new job so I just wanna complain about how awful the last one was. It's very very long I'm so sorry I just hated it so much lol (This seemed like the right place to post because of how the job ended.) It's sad 'cause I was really really excited about Nursing Home job – it was nonprofit and Jewish (like me) and my manager seemed nice and told me (lied) that it was an environment where I didn't need to dress super professionally. I got to run social media and do graphic design and maintain the website which is all the stuff I like to do. The first few weeks were majorly uncomfortable. Last week my kid caught the flu and took a test when he was at his dads and yesterday I tested positive with at home kits for strep and COVID!!! My work is requiring a doctors note, but I can not afford to goto an actual doctor. Idk what to do!

I cant find anything and google is annoying me. Does anyone know a source thats current? also bonus question but how much wealth the whole country has?
