I need advices. They will close down my department by the end of the year and fire my department head. The HR department recommended me in another department that is way better than the one I have actually. However, my boss is the only one who doesn't know she will get fired. And she doesn't want me to leave her department. The other dept head doesn't want to have an issue with this one since they are cordial. I am still without a contract and I was due to be confirmed by the 1st of October. She says I'll be confirmed but nothing concrete yet. I am super torn and I am very afraid. She is a bitch.

i’m so incredibly tired of working
i (m17) have had several jobs since the age of 14, all in the fast food industry. at first, it was relatively fun and easy, and being paid even minimum wage was exciting, because i finally had my own money. but ever since then, the charm has slowly worn off. i’ve become increasingly disillusioned with the idea of work, and even with basic concepts like money. my brain just doesn’t understand why inequality is something that humans seem to propagate, regardless of the circumstances. as a child, my family was in the lower middle class, and we lived comfortably. i spent my days at school and then came home and played outside or on the Wii or PS3. but when i was nearing adolescence, our fortune took a turn for the worse. due to circumstances that i don’t wish to explain, we became homeless. with no father to speak of…
Is it always bad to be a landlord?
Hi all. Wanted your opinion on this one. Recently i got money that came from my grandad (whom was pretty rich, but the rest of my family is middle class working). As i’m a student i invested them and got two small flats that i rent to other students. I keep reading over here that renting place is bad and you exploit people. I keep the rent within the suggested range by the city hall (and are some of the lowest in the city). At the same time i listen to my renters, solve the issues they have and buy furniture based on their needs and likings. Do you still consider this kind of renting bad?
So we have the 8 hours work/8 hours sleep/8 hours free time work day – huh? Nonsense! It doesnt take into account all the time you need to invest into these 8 work hours. Like getting up – getting ready – commuting – house work – showering ect I get up at 7 AM and start at my job at 8:30 AM so 1.5 hours of my “free” time are gone by getting up – dressing – eating -and commuting. Then I spend the next 8.5 hours at my job. The 0.5 hours are “free time” in theory – but in reality its just enough time to eat a meal. Then I need to get through traffic and I am home at around 6 PM. Thats 11 hours gone – 3 hours of my 8 hours “free time” gone. Then I need to shower – prepare some clothes for the…
Much wanted appreciation
Wanted to join a general union.
So my local union was kinda useless and won’t return my emails- they added me to every bloody mailing list though… I thought hey, why not pick a general union, surely I can support my fellow workers that way? This was the reply I got from the IWW.
I know for most of us, work or school take a majority of our time during the week If that time was converted to your free time, what would you do with all that time? I had a hard time answering this because even with my full time job, I do have time for all my hobbies – talk to friends, watch sports, YouTube, travel when I want, etc. I do want to acknowledge that I'm in a fortunate position and others may not have the time for their hobbies with a full time job/school.
Now, most resources are privately owned or publicly managed. Is the local river now owned by the Amazon company? It might be soon.
