Earlier this year, the teacher was summoned to a face-to-face meeting with Wilson (her boss, the principle). During the meeting, the principal said a family had alleged that the teacher had told a class she lived with her boyfriend, and asked students to keep that information confidential. She denied ever making such a statement to her class. Wilson then asked the teacher directly about her current relationship status. The teacher immediately left the meeting and asked Wilson to put the question in writing. In a subsequent email, Wilson detailed the complaint he said had been made by the parent of a student. He did not repeat in writing the direct question about the teacher’s relationship status.

lamo what??
*Stolen* Too good not to share here!
So I'm a video producer. I have my own business and also have a 9 to 5 job doing video work for an agriculture-related company where I create their social content and corporate videos. Next month they're holding a special event on a Saturday that they want filmed starting at 6:30am and going right through until late into the evening. I was never asked if I was willing to give up my Saturday and they've just basically said I don't have a choice. For context, I live in a regional city in Australia and jobs that specialise in what I do are few and far between so going elsewhere isn't an option. I'm on a standard salary for working Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day. They are only offering time in lieu for working on a Saturday. I've explained that I'm concerned about burning out throughout the day if…
My boyfriend works for a fast food chain restaurant. For the last month or two he’s has a new shift leader he has come home with problems about more than a few times now. This guy is responsible for manually clocking in and out employees as they can’t do it themselves for some reason. This leader has been forcing my boyfriend and other coworkers to stay past their scheduled time. Which is very illegal. To provide an example he was scheduled till 10 and the shift leader would not let him clock out till after 11. This was about the regular time frame, 30-90 minutes after shift. Today my boyfriend calls me and is crying. The shift leader berated him for how he did his general tasks he’s been doing over a year now, leader gave him lip and attitude when he asked if he could clock out on time,…
Work as a meaning of life??
Notice or no notice?
So, first the obligatory: on a cell phone, sorry for typos, formatting, etc. Tl;Dr at the bottom. I work help desk for on of the largest health care orgs in my state (Montana, not gonna mention names, but with everything else I'm about to say, it won't take much Google-fu to find out). The place is going to hell. The whole time I've been there, I've been treated alright. I need time off, take it. If it's less than three days, no doc note needed. Pay is on the barest low side of fair. Making jist under $60k. First red flag was mobility. A lot of lateral hiring was done from the place when I started in 2018 as a contractor. Moved from contract to full time in 2020, middle of the pandemic. That's when things started to change. More outside hiring, in clinical and tech sides. More stringent requirements…
This is something that I'm quite confused about. Office space has to be extremely expensive to build, renovate or even rent, so why opt for it, when you could just have everyone work remotely?
