Think I dodged a bullet by not going through with this job…

I sent them a message before this was posted. Got excited because I thought it was something I'd could actually believe in and get behind. Come to find out they essentially want you to lie to potential customers just to get their attention, they didn't mention the certification would cost like $60, and the person who was going to be directly over me didn't seem to even want to talk. Now they've added even more red flags. I guess I'm glad I didn't push through my misgivings.

Burned out healthcare provider here hoping someone has advice on an unusual problem with work that I’m afraid will make it harder to escape this soul crushing job.

Without my permission or knowledge , my employer (huge hospital system) recently set up a Google Business account using my name and professional credentials as the business name and they won’t give me access to it. In other words, they won’t allow my access to my own professional name. Unfortunately, since it is such a new account, the only review currently is a misleading review from a patient that I never even saw. The pt gave me one star and the review said he was unhappy because his appt had been cancelled. The appt ended up being cancelled because I was sick and had to take the day off. He refused to be rescheduled and so the patient who left the review never even saw me. I requested access to the Google Business account so I could address the negative review attached to my name and was denied. Now when…

Seriously, check the rules of the subreddit. Shilling for employers and landlords is a Rule 7 violation. Report that shit.

“We don’t have a demand-driven economy today, in effect. We have an employment-driven economy.”

“The need is to employ, not to meet demand because of the levels of surplus and abundance that has been created, relatively speaking of course.” Just an excerpt from the new episode of Revolution Now podcast with Peter Joseph (which I definitely recommend to anyone wanting to better understand how things can be so messed up right now. Addresses plenty of relational matters never discussed in mainstream talks.)

Part time job hours expand whether I like it or not

I was hired as a receptionist at a business that specializes in children’s activities about 2 months ago. The interview was great. The department head and the direct supervisor emphasized how much this company values work life balance, and as a company that deals with kids they understand that family comes first. I made sure that they were well aware that I have small children and my availability was limited. They did tell me that they hoped to expand the position to full time “down the road” and asked if I was interested. I said that I would be interested in full time when my kids got older and needed me less but while they were small all I could do was part time. The job was advertised as part time and I was offered 25 hours a week. I’ve been a SAHM for a few years and my kids…

Worst Job You’ve Ever Worked?

For me, it was when I moved to Colorado in April 2018 for a job with a law-based county government office. That's also saying a lot, since I've worked retail, food, and shitty receptionist gigs. Not going to specify exactly what county it was, but they've had other scandals come out in their ranks. I was pulled aside two weeks into the new job by a coworker on their two week notice who wanted to “let me know what really went down on a daily basis here.” She had been cornered in a stairwell by a group of other girls in the office for rumors that she was “talking shit” about another coworker. Baseless accusations, and they specifically chose the stairwell since there were no cameras. We'd regularly come back to our cubicles with fucked up, passive aggressive notes from other admins. Coworkers took screenshots of comments I made on…

Over 60 condemned Salem Cardinal Village tenants are being evicted due to the slumlord’s mismanagement of the complex.

60 people will now become homeless due to a slumlord's mismanagement of an apartment complex. The family, who owns multiple complex in Oregon, failed to make repairs that were demanded by the city due to being uninhabitable, so now 60 people will become homeless due to their inaction. The 60 residents were given baskets with shampoo, a pamphlet of their rights, and blankets for the city, but were not provided any place where they could take shelter. This slumlord and their family have a history of actions like this, which is explained in the article, and it demonstrates how our society treats poor people. Salem is in a bad housing crisis right now as many people are being evicted and new homeless camps are being constructed daily, but the city has done little to help solve the problem. I also want to include that the city contacted non-profits who help…
