Today people want to have more time for their desires. Know the system doesn't support that. It's work till you drop. Even after you are done your studies, unless you have some support from family or something, you will need to work like a crazy person to support yourself. And it's only going to get worst. Also, it seems like having panic attacks is on the rise lately. Not sure why but I bet if Boomers were in this predicament when they were younger. They would have done something about it. Like strike and unionize… And then they would have made sure the union treated their needs correctly. They would have used force if necessary. Boomers continue to ruin everything they touch and we keep letting them. Right now, I work for a small company owned and managed by a very conservative boomer. Without going into too much detail, we (a small team of about 4 people) produce glass jewelry for wholesalers and retail stores. The business idea is smart and our products sell really well. I do count my blessing because I love what I do. Originally the owner worked with me as a team but as soon as I started to up my production, they just wander around the store and do fuck all to contribute. She’s very demanding, disrespectful to others, and has political rants every day. Recently she fired a 74-year-old jewelry maker without warning. I’m honestly not sure what to do here. I started this job a week ago I was supposed to get paid today for the last 3 days. It’s been a shit show from the start they had two weeks to prepare and when I came nothing was ready. Today I walk in and I tell my boss that I haven’t gotten paid, he’s a nice guy but he seems nonchalant ab it almost. He said something ab me getting it in the next pay period but that honestly made me want to walk out. I really need the money and I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to quit bc I don’t have another job lined up.

Been managing a movie theater for about a year now, put in my two weeks, and am down to my last two days. I have about 50 hours of PTO saved up and was relying on that money for my last check. BUT I have just found out that they “don’t honor unused PTO, according to the handbook” I am frustrated. This feels like such a cheap move, and now I’m wondering if I should not show up for my last weekend shifts to try and use up my PTO. I know it isn’t ILLEGAL to not pay out PTO, but it definitely feels frowned upon and cheap.
